No sound will come out of the speakers and all the drivers I have downloaded from the HP site are not helping

If you've check the Audio and Sound properties in the Device Manager then maybe the speakers are shot. Click Start/Control Panel and look for Sound or Audio and check the properties and settings. You can also click the Megaphone at the bottom right near the time. Make sure the Volume is turned up and not on Mute.

You can look on ebay and purchase replacement speakers based on a HP DV6000 Speakers search. You'll have to take the laptop apart to install them.

You could try downloading and reinstalling the Audio Drivers.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "HP Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Audio drivers.

Try using the VLC Player. It comes with drivers and codec. I've seen it solve many sound issues.

Try using VLC as your player. Go to www.google.com and in the search box type "download vlc" (without the quotes). Look for the Video Lan download from site www.videolan.org/vlc Download and install it. It downloads and installs in 3 minutes or so. It's a very fast player, smooth and it can play just about any type of dvd formats and media. It's totally FREE.

it sounds like you have lost the sound drivers. you can go to the HP site and download the sound drivers for your model PC or Google ( HP DC7100SFF sound drivers).
try the drivers first.

speakers do not need any kind of software to work, it's a problem with your computer.

You should try to update your sound drivers, and plug the speakers into the right sockets (green). make sure to set your sound card to the main sound output device.

if you mean that you cant get any sound on your computer
control panel sounds and audio,volume you can adjust the volume or advanced,speakers select appropriate speakers or audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have selected the right speakers or control panel,administrive tools,computer management,device manager scroll to sound,video and game cotrollers could be a yellow question mark? right click to re-install drivers

Those speakers don't need drivers, they should just plug into your sound card, if you aren't getting sound it's probably a sound card problem.
Check on your computer manufacturer's website to download sound card drivers.

Quite a few things to try

1. The Volume is down or muted - Look at the system tray - righthand bottom - look for a speaker icon and click to see if muted or down.
2. Start>control panel> sound - see if anything os muted
4. Press the Windows key (bottom left of the keyboard} and at the same time press the R key, now in the search box that appears - type devmgmt.msc - look for sound devices, click on the + sign make sure a sound device is listed
5. Re-install the sound driver from the HP site here http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&os=228&product=1842155& choose which windows version you have - download the audio file and follow the instructions on the HP website
