Hi, any time you remove the high limit wires the limit switch will show that it is open which starts the indoor blower motor. Your limit was good. It showed it was open on your code chart because the wires were removed. If you are blowing this 3 to 5 amp board fuse, its showing you have a dead short on the low voltage side of the furnace, not the high voltage such as the fan motor would run on. Make sure that the 18gauge thermostat wires coming in to the board are not skinned or have a bare spot touching metal which will cause this. Look it over good where it is pulled through to the board terminals. If it blows as soon as you put a new one in, yes indeed, dead short, 24 volt side. You may have to buy more fuses to find the problem, but any part or safety switch that is 24 volts need to be disconnected until you find the faulty part. Your board could be shorted. Kill the power to the unit. Draw a diagram of the stat wires so you know where they go back. Take them loose. If the fuse holds, the problem will be in the stat wire from there back to the thermostat, and can be the contactor coil shorted on the out door unit or thermostat. After you remove the wires, remove the 4- screws holding the board in. They are ( board ) hard to look at the back side, but work it around to get a look at the circuitry on the back for burned or blacked areas on the board. If there is, the board is the fault. I have seen this many times before. If it is, you may be able to get one at a appliance parts house. Take all model and serial, and board numbers with you. Just keep in mind it is a 24 volt part, control wiring toughing metal, stat, or the board its self. My bet its the control board. Please keep me updated on what you find, and remember to kill power when looking at the back of the board. If I have been of help to you on this, please be kind when rating me as I know you will. I will be here if you need more help.
Sincerely,

1993 Ford Escort Blower Motor & AC Switch

I'm going to start from the beginning.
The blower motor gets power from the high blower relay and it is grounded thru the fan switch and the resistor. So you should have power on the pink white blower wire coming from the high relay to the blower motor. The orange black wire from the motor is ground going to the resistor and fan switch. The blue wires on the control panel are for the ac compressor.
The high blower relay gets power from fuse number 5 in the box. The blower motor is grounded thru the resistor and then thru the fan switch.

Heater blower stopped working?

Hello,
You may want to try your fan on all speeds. If it will work on high, you have a bad resistor for the fan motor. ( high speed doesn't go through the resistor ).
If it doesn't work on any speed, I would check the following;
1. Make sure the fuse isn't blown for the fan blower motor.
2. Check, or have checked the wires between the fan control switch and the fan blower motor.
3. Have the fan control switch checked.
4. Have the fan blower motor checked.

I hope this helps you.

DRYER STOPPED RUNNING. ALL CONTROLS WORK, BUT WON'T START. HIGH LIMIT SWITCH GONE?

It's either of the thermal fuse on the blower housing or the thermal fuse on the heater enclosure is blown. These thermal fuses are wired in series with the motor and therefore, if any of them is blown will cause the motor not to run and hence the dryer not to work except the controls.

Disconnect power to the dryer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Open the dryer door and remove the four screws located vertically along the inside lip of the door opening. These screws hold the front panel to the front shroud assembly.

Once the four screws are removed, grasp and press in on the upper edges of the front panel posts then twist it inward to release the clips holding it to the cabinet. Tilt the top of the front panel and move it away from the dryer.

Bypass the thermal fuse on the blower housing by disconnecting the wires and taping them together or connecting a jumper wire between them. Close the door then plug and start the dryer.

The dryer should start and heat up if the blower housing thermal fuse is the culprit. Otherwise, the other thermal fuse on the heater enclosure is blown. Unplug the dryer then bypass the thermal fuse on the heater enclosure in the same way the first is bypassed to confirm it.

Plug the dryer back then restart it. The dryer should start to confirm that the heater enclosure thermal fuse is blown. Replace the thermal fuse (part number 307473) together with the high-limit thermostat (part number 303396).

Unplug the dryer and unbypass the blower housing thermal fuse then plug it back and restart it. If the dryer fails to restart, replace also the blower housing thermal fuse (part number 33001762) together with the cycling thermostat.

Reinstall the front panel in reverse steps of the removal steps to complete the repair.

A/C and furnance won't turn on

Turn The Fan Switch at Thermostat to on, If nothing happens you need to check the fuse disconnect at
furnace if it is equipped with one, if not make sure
the breaker is not tripped.

If all of that is ok, make sure the blower door is secured, when it is secured it makes up a door switch which transfers all the power to the control
board of the furnace.

If you dont think its the blower door switch, remove the door and tape over the switch to simulate that it is closed. Check for 24 volts between R and C where
the thermostat wires go R is usually red and C is usually white. If you dont have 24volts at R and C
check to make sure that the little 3amp automotive
fuse is not blown, I think the fuse is purple and should easily be located on control board.

If the main fuse or breaker was blown or tripped, check to make sure the blower motor will turn by hand.

Goodman A18-8 electronic furnance and AC troubleshooting.

Check the unit for a high temperature limit switch, usually a round bimetal disc or a square plate that
would insert into the unit. If the switch is bad, it opens up and the fan will run no matter what. Complete the circuit with jumper wire, if fan shuts off
replace switch

A/c fans wont blow

If the fuse is blown for the blower then there is a short, that is not an answer, go to the blower and check to see that the blower motor connector has 12 volts to it when the blower is set to high speed on control, if it does then u need a new blower motor, if it doesn't then the control switch is defective or the blower motor speed control resistor is defective.
