Question about Exercise & Fitness
Get a flashlight and what you described as a saw blade is the optical wheel. When the motor is turning their is a optical speed sensor that the wheel travels between it.
Without starting the unit move the belt manually and see if the wheel is hitting the optic sensor. If it is then usually their two allen screws that hold the wheel in place loosen them and try to center then wheel or gently try to straighten the wheel teeth. Then start the unit up and if the clicking is gone you've fix it.
If the clicking is their then using a flat tip screw driver and touch the ends of the motor with the tip the place your ear on the handle and see if the clicking is coming from either end of the motor, if the clicking is located on either end of the motor could be worn motor brushes replace motor brushes or failure of the bearings replace the motor. If motor is good then proceed to the front roller place the tip on the stationary shaft and listen to each end of the roller if the clicking their replace the front roller.
