Question about SVA-USA VR 17S 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Display or power issues with my 17'' LCD screen (SVA LCD #7500L )

Display or power issues with an SVA LCD #7005L screen.

Short story short, I went to throw the trash out and I found this silver LCD screen in the dumpster but I couldn't the original power supply (DC 12v; 40w max consumption) that it came with. I managed hook up the white DC 12v cable that feeds from my PC speakers to my monitor (for power) to the SVA LCD screen and it turns on.

When turned on without the vga cable it displays the ''no signal'' message and the power button turns red (green when ok). Now, when I turn on the LCD screen with the vga cable it just starts turning on and off continuously and I just had to unplug the power cable.

I took the LCD screen apart and I checked on the main board for the vga and dc jack soldering joints and none were broken. Also, I didn't see any burnt capacitors of spots on either board. I have a soldering iron but I'm amateur at electronic stuff.

So what's the deal? Thanks.

Check the high voltage ballast transistor.. see if one of them is burnt... If none.. it could be overheating when supply with current. The ballast transformer supply high voltage for the backlight inverter..If these were overheating then the supply voltage for your monitor will be unstable.

Check also the backlight inverter (cold cathode light) if it is busted.. the function of this backlight inverter is to give display image on the screen.. If these were busted then what you will be seeing is black on your screen. You can also replace this.

Please rate this solution if this help you. thanks..

Monitor sleep

it is because there is no supply to the processor!!
u should try removing and reconnecting the SMPS of your PC which is in the CPU!!
it is mainly because of the smps's loose connecting or a short on the board or in some device connected to the board!!

Normally you don't need a driver for a monitor, any screen resolution adjustments is done by the Control Panel - Display - Settings.

It could be the Monitor, the VGA adapter, or the PC itself. If you power on the monitor without anything connected to it, do you ever see anything on the display?

If not, it is probably the Monitor. If yes, it is likely the vga adapter and/or PC.

''Out of range'' message on an older SVA monitor

This usually means the display resolution settings on your PC are set too high for the monitor to display the signal. Try lowering the resolution on your PC.
