My computer screen turns blue and restarts window vista

Hi jjlishus,

I see you mentioned that you are having issues with you computer going into a blue screen then it restarts.

You can try to boot into safe mode to see if Windows Vista will Load without having the bluescreen and if it will not shut down or restart, from Safe Mode, try and do a system restore to a data where the problem has not happened yet.

From there-on see if the issue will still happen or no

Getting into Safemode:
restart PC keep on tapping F8 on your Keyboard this will prompt you options, Look for Safemode then press enter this should bring up the safemode screen.

If during the loading of safemode and still happens are any error show up or it goes to a blue screen, you can try going into safemode with command prompt.
to get to safemode in command prompt just do the same as ging into safemode and select safemode in command prompt.

once in the command prompt
Type CHKDSK , then press enter it should check the system for 5 mins or so depending on your PC/Laptops speed.

if still the issue is the same reformatting or restoring your windows back to defaults may fix the issue.

I hope that this will help,

How do I get into safemode on my acer aspire desktop

1 Restart the Acer Aspire netbook by pressing the "power" button on the netbook's keyboard or by pressing the "CTRL," "ALT" and "DEL" keys at the same time. 2 During startup, hold down the "F8" function key immediately when you see the "Acer" splash screen and the option for entering "Setup." 3 Keep pressing the "F8" key until the "Advanced Boot Options" menu appears. If you receive a "keyboard error," restart the Acer Aspire and repeat step 2. 4 Use the arrow keys to navigate to the "Safe Mode" selection on the "Advanced Boot Options" menu. The arrow keys are located on the right-hand side of the Acer Aspire keyboard. 5 Press the "Enter" key to execute the "Safe Mode" selection. The Windows operating system will now start in "Safe Mode" and you can perform a system restore or make needed changes to get your Acer Aspire to boot normally again. When i start my pc, it starts well but a page appers telling me to start windows normally. when i click on that then windows starts loading bt after 2 sec the systems gets restarted.

1.You have to do a diagnostics test on your hard drive to check if the there are any bad sectors developed on the hard drive!

2. If your system restart, when you just click your mouse, your system files are probably corrupted and your may have to reinstall the system ie. provided your hard drive has no errors.

Here is an option you can try.
Can you boot your system to "safemode"? & Use the "Dos Prompt" to do a "Check Disk" on your System. ie Run -> "CHKDSK /f/r" (without quotes)

Hope it helps.

When I try to reboot from safemode it just goes black again

when starts in normal mode and it probably has the same problem you got in the first place and forced you to boot in safe mode...I suggest to start in safe mode and remove the video driver and reinstall it clean ..and after that reboot in normal mode..Or ..if you want try to make a system restore ..Just start the restore system from the start all programs /accessories /system tools/ system restore..choose a previous date in bold text ..(select one you know for sure it worked ..) and engage the action ..

I recieved the following error massage if I try restoring my LapTop %1 is not a valid win32 application problem windows vista

If it comes up while restoring, for rstui.exe(restore utility), it may be due to a virus infection. Scand your system and see. Run this utility in safemode. To go to safe mode, Reboot the machine and press F8 before the Windows Boot screen appear. Then go to safemode.
Do system restore from there. If the utility is corrupted what you have to do is copy rstrui.exe from another computer, paste it to system32 folder.
Copy it from an exactly similar OS version.
If you have problems, go to device manager and go to event viewer
and check the categories, System and Applications for related errors.
To get to devuce manager, Rclick on My Computer Icon and Selact Manage.
If this solution helps you plase kindly rate this answer.
Good Luck.

Safe mode boots okay but not in normal boot - no error either

Do you have the original recovery disk? I recommend inserting the recover disk, restart the computer while continually pressing F12. Select boot from CD, press any key when asked, and you would want to do a "repair". That should fix your problem.
