Can I use for an indoor convection heater?

Yes, you need a timer that has two rows of tappets, one row is On and the other is Off. Set them all as offs, 2 hours apart. Turn the dial until the one Off clicks, turn the heater on and it will click Off in two hours. I have a similar setting in the bedroom if fall asleep with the table lamp on. It is set to switch off every hour after midnight.

Outdoor lights timer: Intermatic HB851 photo timer with dial. How do I set it for dusk ON then off in 8 hrs.

Intermatic make HB51 timer.

If this is not your timer, then add a comment.
To set for ON at dusk, and off 8 hours later, rotate dial to the number 8.
Timer turns on automatically at dusk.
Timer set to 8 hours will start countdown when timer turns ON > and 8 hours later timer will turn off.

Make sure timer is turned away from lights so photo-eye doesn't receive feedback.
Feedback is when the photo eye gets too much light, and then timer thinks it's dawn, so lights turn off, and a moment later photo eye thinks it's dusk again and lights turn on again.
Feedback from lights will cause timer to reset the 8 hour countdown.
A car pulling in the driveway can cause feedback.
If the timer resets because of feedback, it begins the 8 hour countdown again, so the lights will not turn off until dawn.

You can test timer by putting black tape over photo eye, and then timer will turn on.
Set timer for 2 hours for example and then check if timer turned off 2 hours later.

If timer is not functioning correctly, then timer is defective.

How do I get it to start at dusk and run for 4 hours

You posted under Intermatic make HB51 timer.

If this is not your timer, then add a comment.

To set for ON at dusk, and off 4 hours later, rotate dial to the number 4.
Timer turns on automatically at dusk because timer has photo eye.
Timer set to 4 hours will start countdown when timer turns ON > and 4 hours later timer will turn off.

Make sure timer is turned away from lights so photo-eye doesn't receive feedback.
Feedback is when the photo eye gets too much light, and then timer thinks it's dawn, so lights turn off, and a moment later photo eye thinks it's dusk again and lights turn on.
Feedback from lights will cause timer to reset the 4 hour countdown.
A car pulling in driveway can cause feedback.
If timer resets because of feedback, it begins 4 hour countdown again, so lights will not turn off until much later than planned, or not turn off until dusk.

You can test timer by putting black tape over photo eye, and then timer will turn on.
Set timer for 2 hours for example and then check if timer turned off 2 hours later.

If timer is not functioning correctly, then timer is defective.

How do I program a Micronta programmable timer--I set the time to have it go on, but how do I set it to go off?

LCD Programmable Timer (630-0892) Operation Faxback Doc. # 17153 Setting The Time and Day Follow these steps to set the current time and day. 1. Slide RUN/PROG/TIME SET to TIME SET. 2. Press HOUR to set the hour digits. Pressing and holding down HOUR rapid- ly advances the hour digits. NOTE: P appears to the left of the hour digits to indicate P.M. hours. 3. Press MIN (minute) to set the minutes digits. Pressing and holding down MIN rapidly advances the minute digits. 4. Press DAY until the correct day abbreviation appears. 5. Slide the RUN/PROG/TIME SET switch to RUN. The colon flashes to show the clock is running. NOTE: Keep this switch set to RUN to prevent accidentally changing the time. Setting The Timer The timer has 14 settings (1-14). Odd numbered settings specify a time to turn on the appliance and even numbered settings specify a time to turn off the appliance. Follow these steps to set your timer. 1. Slide the RUN/PROG/TIME SET switch to PROG. The display shows the first setting. If you have not entered any setting, the display appears as shown in the illustration. 2. Press Event to select a setting to enter or change. 3. Press Hour to set the HOUR digits and press MIN to set minute digits to the correct time. NOTE: Be sure P appears to the left of the hour digits when you want to set a P.M. hour. 4. Press Day to select the day of the week for this setting. If you want the setting to apply to every day of the week, repeatedly press DAY until all day indicators appear on the display. 5. When you finish entering the setting, press EVENT. The timer advances to the next setting. 6. Repeat Steps 3 through 5 to enter additional settings. NOTES: Be sure to set the timer to turn off the appliance. The appli- ance remains on as long as there is power if you do not set a time for the appliance to turn off. To replace an existing event, select its setting number and set the new event time. To clear an event, select its setting number and press CLEAR twice. Be sure to clear both the on time and the off time for an event. If you set the timer to turn on the appliance every day, be sure to also set the timer to turn off the appliance every day. 7. Set the RUN/PROG/TIME SET switch to RUN. NOTE: You must set this switch to RUN to turn on or off the appliance either automatically or manually. When the timer automatically turns on the appliance, ON appears on the display and the indicator lights red. When the appliance turns off, the indicator turns off. Reviewing The Settings To review the settings in your timer, set RUN/PROG/TIME SET to PROG. Setting 1 appears on the display. Repeatedly press EVENT to view the other settings. NOTE: To determine event being programmed, pull the power for a period of 5 minutes. Then re-power the unit. The first event will be "ON" and the next will be "OFF", etc. There will be a number to the side of the display that tells you which event you are programming, The even numbers are "OFF" and the odd numbers are "ON" events. How to set and use the subdial on my invicta model 5749 gmt watch

While I'm not familiar with that particular model, most GMT hands are set by turning the crown "backwards" in the date setting position. IOW, if you set the date by pulling the crown out to the first detent and turning it clockwise, turning it counter-clockwise will set the GMT indicator.

How do I get both 8 hours time and high setting on this crockpot?

I got it on high for 1 hour and then reset it to low for 7 more hours and everything appears to be fine. I suspect that this crock pot runs at a little higher temperature. The *low* setting seems as hot as my older crockpot on high...... With this crock pot - set the hours while turned off with the right button and then turn it on. You may have to play with it several times to get the proper heat setting. As I said, I could only keep on it *high* for 1 hour.
