You need regulated 12vdc with at least 3.5A minimum, I would use 4~5A power supply to have some head room.

Keeps blowing internal breaker

The unit rated at 3 HP at 115 volts draws 13.8 amps is odd, a HP in watts is 745 and should be about 2200 watts and 19 amps plus a efficiency loss. Odd to see the ratings don't jive with electric theory/formulas.
The compressor should be connected directly to the wall and if using an extension cord, the cord needs to be #12 AWG or larger to avoid line voltage loss and over amping of the motor.
Here is contact and support info: For more information, please call 800/4-MAKITA (800/462-5482) or visit makitatools.com.
My bottom line is, A 115V motor circuit needs 10 amperes per horse power or 30 amp circuit for 3 horse power. Using extension cords calls for upgrade in wire gage of the cord. The advantage of using 230 volts is it cuts the amperes in half and allows use of smaller gage wire. Watts, or volt amperes is the product of volts and amps.

The fuse blows seconds after the unit is switched on. No fatal accident occurred to cause the problem.

One of the power amps has failed. Take unit in for servicing unless you are electronically adept.

Here is schematic:

Scroll down to "get manual" and click on that to download. Ignore other download links.

The unit uses LM3886 power amp chips. Likely one has shorted. Use a 40 watt light bulb in series with the input power cord to act as a resetable fuse to avoid wasting fuses during troubleshooting and repair.

How can a PMP 2000 be patched so that both internal amps are used to power the monitors, and the mains are sent from the mainpre-out to another power amp, while using one internal eq for the mains, and the...

No you can't quite do this since the EQ's are right before the power amps in the signal flow. The monitor output would drive two 8 ohm speakers daisy chained at roughly 300 watts RMS... I can't imagine needing more than that for a venue that is within the capabilities of this unit.
You can drive both power amps by the monitor output by setting the mon/main function on the switch and using a short TRS cable jumper between MONITOR PREAMP OUT and the RIGHT POWER AMP INPUT jack. Drive your mains from the LEFT PREAMP OUT. The EQ's will ONLY affect the monitors. Use an external EQ if you need to EQ the mains with this connnection. Use TRS balanced cables to the main amp and CONNECT all interconnected equipment to the SAME power source or receptacle, even if it means running an extension to the mixer.

When playing through the pa the speakers and sound will cut out on the mains and the monitors. Clip! i have the Mackie ppm 1012 and a pair of c 300 and a pair of c 200's. i daisy chain them both. one side...

Well, you aren't going to like this... You have a system that can deliver 250 Watts maximum RMS BECAUSE that is ALL the input power there is from the power cord. All these numbers like 800 watts a side are BS... those are PEAK power and not sustained power... More basically fake advertising that we are so accustomed to lately. The good thing is you won't blow your speakers.

The clipping is the internal protection that limits the amp from saturating.

I know you aren't going to like to hear this after spending that much... If you want more power you will need to buy another amp to get the higher sound level and use this as a mixer... One side of this should be able to drive 125 watts which SHOULD be enough to use for monitors. You should procure a sound level meter and make sure you are staying within the sound level guidelines now to protect your hearing... I know of several musicians that now are near deaf due to exposure to high sound levels...

If using with a power strip or extension cord, how many amps does the iron pull -- it is 1700 watt the kind I have

Power = Current x Emf
Current = Power / Emf

Current - Amps
Emf - Volts
Power - Watts

Current = 1700 watts / 120 Volts = 14 Amps

If you live in Europe then -

Current = 1700 watts / 240 Volts = 7 Amps

Be sure your breaker and extension cord are rated for the amperage.

I need a new power cord for a dell inspiron mini 10 netbook. I THINK it is a 30 watt cord but am not sure. Can I replace the cord with a 65 watt cord?

If you are talking about the battery charger + power cord combination for your laptop, the yes. A 65 watt will charge your batteries faster, and also provide enough power for a docking station and external monitor, if you have them.

Using a 65 watt charger instead of a 35 watt one will not harm your laptop in any way.

Describe your Black & Decker Power To

No. You will need typically 35-40 watts for a LCD monitor. 20 watt may not even run DVD's on your laptop. Look for something 80 watt or so.

Checking power consumption

you need a clamp on amp probe, a multimeter wont hack it. if you can get a amp probe, you first seperate the wires on your cord and then place the probe over one of the wires only this will give you your consumption. by the way, your approx usage of watts on a 26 inch lcd tv would be 160 watts. models do vary.

NEED EXTENSION FOR TOASTMASTER COOL EDGE GRILL MODEL 896S

I'm assuming you mean the power cord. Most of these units use standard power cords. Take it to an appliance parts store to match it. If you can't find the cord you want, extension cords called heavy duty are available. Be sure that the power draw on the label on the cord equals or exceeds that of the unit. Some cords use 'amps'...some appliances use watts. To get amps from watts: take the wattage, divide by volts (typically 120) to get amps. A 1200 watt appliance uses 10 amps. Use the next highest rating.

Where do i get a power cord?

first, try the internet...http://www.pricegrabber.com/ and search for your model and then for optional accessories. if no-go, then... remove your car battery, then devise a makeshift 2-wire cable to deliver 12 volts to the proper pins on the back of your monitor. look for polarity markings 12v at 6.5 amps (70 watts) may be hard to find as a "universal" supply. many older pc case supplies (pre-ATX they are free at recycling centers) have the 12V available...just ensure the yellow and black (ground) wires only are used...may also need to ensure that "power ok" signal is set to activate said supply
