Question about Garden

My lawnmower starts fairly easily and will run for several minute but then stops and I am unable to get it to start again without leaving it for 5 - 10 minutes. Any suggestions as to where the problem lies?

It could be overheating. Check the immediate area around the engines cooling fins and make sure any debris or bugs nest, grass clippings, grease etc. are removed. Also make sure there is no debris in the top housing near the flywheel.

Hi My 2005 Same Dorado 85 Tractor. It starts from cold easily first time around. But once the engine has been running for several minutes it stops.

sounds like you could have a coolant temp sensor issue. If it senses the engine temperature higher than it actually is, it will tell the engine computer to shut down.

Also I'm not showing an 05 Eldorado, if you could give the correct information for your car, it would be very helpful

Suddenly cut out whilst mowing the lawn. now wont start, pull cord stiff to pull

Something just like this happened earlier this year with my pressure washer. This is what I did to fix it and now it runs great. Check the oil. If it's black or feels the least bit tacky, drain a pint or two of the oil out and re-add that amount of Marvel Mystery Oil. Now, attempt to pull the cord all the way out, but slowly at first. It should get easier to pull after about 5 pulls. If the mower restarts, let it run for 10 minutes until the Mystery Oil is hot and has cycled around inside the engine. Then drain that oil and refill it with a quality brand of oil. To top it off, either clean or replace the air filter, and put a shotglass of Lucas gas & injector cleaner into the mower's full gas tank. I also do this to my lawnmower and weedeater. It works wonders. BTW...If you're unable to turn the engine over by pulling the cord, remove the spark plug and tilt the mower up, so you can turn the blade easily by hand (use gloves). BUT FIRST MAKE SURE THAT SPARK PLUG IS REMOVED. REMEMBER... SAFETY FIRST! Let us know if this helped you any.

Having trouble starting the lawnmower. When I turned it on its side to check the blade and turned it back it started. How can I solve this

Sounds like a odd solution.
After several years of working on small engines, I can tell you that 4 out of 5 times that a lawnmower doesn't start, it is a fuel delivery problem. Other issues could be a weak spark, low compression, or a clogged air filter.
If you have confirmed that the lawnmower has spark, checked the air filter, and can feel a good bit of compression, your problem likely lies in the carb.
The only way to solve this issue is to take it apart and clean it. Some models require that you replace components such as a fuel pump diaphragm. These are popular with Briggs engines.
The process is fairly detailed but you can use this guide to cleaning a lawnmower carb for detailed assistance. Good luck.

Ignition Cylinder if i replace this do i have to mess with any anti theft stuff

The antitheft will need reprogrammed when you are done. But it is fairly easy to do. Just leave the key in the run position until the security light stops flashing. (10 min).

2004 chevy venture will not shift from park. The engine is running and the brake pedal is pressed.

The blocking bracket might be jammed. Stop the engine, nudge the car a little and try again to move the lever without pressing the brake pedal.
If this works move the lever several times to loosen the bracket, leave it in neutral, press the brake pedal  and start the engine. Leave it running at idle for a while , till the oil heats up - 5-10 minutes , depending how cold is outside. Then repeat the lever movement till the efort becomes neglijable. If it doesn't or jams again take the car to the repair shop, it needs tinkering.

Requires several times just to get started and then runs fine for about 5-minutes and cuts then cuts out on its own. Then have to wait for about 10-15 minutes to start again but still requires several...

The most likely problem is the ignition module. It is probably going out. when a bad ignition module gets hot from use, it stops working, which kills the lawn mower since there is no spark. Once it cools off it sometimes works. This can be a some what costly part, $60 - $80. You might want to take it to a lawnmower repair shop and have them check it out, since there are other issues that could be the cause to your problem. If you have a spark tester, you could test the ignition module to see if you get spark, both before you start the mower, and after it quits on you.
