My pilot light is out and I don't know how to light it please help

Most gas heating appliances have a knob on the gas valve marked on - off and pilot. Turn the knob to pilot this should allow the knob to be depressed which will allow gas to flow to the pilot. Some units also have a peizo ignitor which is a button that when pushed creates a spark to light the pilot this button must be push several times to light the pilot. If there is no peizo ignitor a lighter or match must be used to light the pilot. A fireplace lighter is best for this because the flame needs to be close to the pilot to light it. Have the flame source at the pilot before you depress the pilot knob to avoid a build up of gas which can be dangerous. Make sure to follow all instructions on the unit. Hope this helps

How to fix Raypack that Runs for 2 minutes and then off with PLT on Screen

If your Raypack (mine is a 2100 but most have the same electronic ignition pilot) lights and runs for about 2-5 minutes an then shuts off, you need to clean the pilot sensor. The pilot sensor tells the unit the Burners are running. If the pilot sensor becomes corroded, carbon, etc. the unit will light but will shut off after a few minutes as it thinks the unit is not operating properly. The unit will try to re light, but fail, and then PLT will show on the main programming screen. To fix the probelm, shut off the unit power. Remove the pilot assembly which is located at the bottom right of the unit. There is one screw holding the pilot assembly in place. Gently remove the pilot assembly. There is a fork like probe sensor (not the one with ignition and gas feed) that needs to be cleaned. Take some rough sand paper and clean it thoroughly. Re insert pilot assembly and fire the unit. If this fails, clean the sensor again. Problem solved!

It wont heat

never heard of having a pilot light as well an ignitor, the two don't go together. If your have a pilot light that is on the unit is getting gas. If there is pilot light there is usually a knob to switch between pilot light, off, and active on. maybe set to pilot light only.

Probably no need to replace pilot. Just clean it. check to make sure your pilot orfice is not clogged it will be located at the end of the small tube coming from your gas control valve if its not then while you are trying to light the pilot tap the side of the gas valve (sometims somewhat hard) if it then lights you know you have a bad gas valve

Pilot is lighting, but unit won't light

If the pilot light stays light after you relaease the knob, but your burner will not light then it most likely is the tip switch. Install a jumper wire across the tip switch connections and your burner should light, do not operate with jumper wire as this is bypassing the saftey feature.

Pilot light lights, yet I can't seem to get unit to light off.

it may be a weak pilot flame or a bad thermocouple you can tesst the thermocouple should be 30mv or disconnect pilot tube from valve and blow pressure thru to clear. or have a service company look at (probably the safer option)

Finding Pilot light on Goodman Model caf024a2a. Cannot seem to find the pilot light...The blower works but no heat.

i think the ca # is for the cooling coil unit - the heater should start with gmXXXXX - if your unit is fairly new - the pilot light electronically when thermostat calls for heat the unit will not light if the burner door is open
