Dremel Stylus: loud noise and vibration

My Dremel Stylus makes a really loud mechanical buzzing noise and produces a lot of vibration. I opened it up to see if something was loose, and it seems that the motor is making the noise, but it wasn't loose. Any help?

SOURCE: Dremel Stylus model 1100

Change the capacitor 220uF and it will most certainly work again. I got the idea from FixYa and it solved my problem!
Easy to change just 2 soldering points and a component costing around 0,2 Euros. If you do not know how to operate a soldering tool ask someone for a quick assistance. The switch takes around 2 min (1,5 min to open the charger and 0,5 min to change the component!).

I would contact Dremel.com and talk to their tech department about a warranty repair for this tool.

The humming sound that occurs may be similar to the annoying buzzing my GE microwave produces at random. It could be mechanical vibration. Doesn't seem to affect cooking.

Freezer buzzing

What you need to do is either tightn the screws on the fan motor or add some washers to the cover to tighten it up. There could be a small crack in the plastic that could be vibrating too. If the noise drives you nuts you can order a replacement cover from the manufacturer. Good luck

People, the first words the poster said were that the dryer was "brand new". All of your suggestions assume the dryer had extensive use. This sounds like a factory defect issue!!!! My brand new Maytag Cabrio gas dryer is also making an obnoxious buzzing sound that seems to cycle on and off as the gas ignites. The buzzing sounds electronic not mechanical. What would buzz when the burner is active?

Makes loud buzzing sound when first turn on then fads to a low noise after about 5min have disconect all apps turn all of tele still buzzes

This is a Switchmode transformer, a Choke, "Buzzing" this is happening because something is "Ringing" and causing the windings to vibrate and thus produce an audible signal, this usually happens prior to a unit faulting and is caused by too much current, or the incorrect oscillation frequency, overloading it, and it makes a noise due to it. You need to get this attended to, as it may, fail, and cause a fire or an explosion, or both.

Sounds like a bad ground loop or open shield to the signal path, or feedback from its own speaker or motor. The output of the stylus is so tiny that any electromagnetic noise can easily loom large if it leaks into the signal path.

Be advised that turntables and speakers should never coexist on the same platform or speaker vibration will feed back into the stylus, get amplified again and eventually overdrive the electronics and maybe blow the speaker, which begs the question - how did they get away with it back then? One answer is that there was never any real bass from one of these things.

Try it with minimum volume and work your way up. With the tonearm lifted and the platter turning, listen for audible hum coming from the mechanism itself. If you can hear it, so will the stylus when it's on the platter.

Sounds like the fan is wearing out, as it heats up the fan needs to spin faster and if the bearings are wearing out it will start getting louder and it will also get hotter because the fan cannot keep up the heat being produced. You can replace the fan, most computer shops will carry replacements, also get a can of compressed air and give the inside of the computer a good cleaning. This will help keep things cooler as well. Also make sure that the air vents on the outside of the case are clear as well.

Loud buzzing on Wahl "Designer" model clippers

There is a "power screw" located on the side of the clipper opposite the switch. This may need adjusting. Take a screw driver or coin....and with the unit running......turn the screw back and forth until the clipper stops making noise. The proper position for the most power is to turn the screw intil it makes a loud noise, then turn it back just enough to get rid of it.
