Compressor sounds like it is coming on, but no fan/air coming out of vents. Also, with AC off, and turn Fan from auto to on, hear clicking, but again, no air. Duo-Term 57915.531 RV rooftop.

Most furnace operating on Oil or gas will heat the combustion chamber before starting fan to prevent cold air draft at start-up, can last a minute or two. Eiter the main flame does not come on or the chamber thermostat have fail. Try to modify fan option on room thermostat from auto to on. Cold air coming out: burner problem or no more oil or gas, warm air: burning chamber thermostat problem, leave room thermostat fan option to on until repair.
Bad run capacitor or bad compressor. If you hear an occasional click from the compressor try a new run cap and then a hard start kit. Otherwise it's more economical to purchase a new unit.
on a call for air conditioning your therrmastat brings the indoor fan on and the out door unit at the same time. Since your fan comes on in "fan" mode, it sounds like you need a thermastat. For temp. cooling just turn your fan switch to "on" and turn system switch to cool and set desired temp. System will cycle off and on but fan will not shut off until fan control is set back to "auto". I suggest replaceing thermastat
If the thermostat has a blinking snowflake then it is in time delay mode which sometime can take between 5 to 7 minutes before it will turn the AC and Fan On......Then it will go to a solid snowflake.
When you turned it to fan On it starts the Fan right away..... After the snow flake has went to solid check to see if the fan is running and then look outside to see if the Fan Blade is turning on the AC..... The fan blade comes on the same time as the compressor does. Then with the fan running hold your hand above the air stream above the AC and if you can noticeablely feel warm to hot air comeing out the Top then the compressor is running also. If the outside unit is not running I would check to make sure the Main Breakers are turned ON.... After the AC has ran for a few minutes feel the copper lines that go into the house the smaller line should feel warm to hot and the bigger lines with insulation on it should feel cool to cold and sweating with beads of moisture on it..... That is a quick test to see if the unit is working properly.....If you have a Thermentor and can Check the Temperature of the Return Air and the Supply Air .. You should have about 20 Degree F Between the Supply and Return........ 75* Return - 55* Supply would Equal 20* TD Across the Coil......
That is about all you can do to check on your own....... If the compressor is not coming on or the lines are not the temperature difference then you will need to get professional help for your Air Conditioning System..... Goood Luck Hope this Helps.........
What you are most likely hearing is the compressor kicking on/off. The constant kicking could be a sign that there's insufficient refrigerant to keep the compressor running continuously without shutting on/off. Eventually, the compressor won't kick on at all, a safety feature designed to prevent doing damage to a compressor that's undercharged. Have the AC system checked.
compressor locked up. try hitting top of compressor with a block of wood on top and a hammer, wait a few min. then turn on. if it dosen' start u will have to replace it.
Have your a/c pressure tested, the clicking could be the a/c compr coming on and off due to low freon, it will do that so it don't damage your compr when there is none or low freon.
Pop the hood, start the vehicle and turn the AC on. Watch the compressor, it should have a center that rotates on an off and you should hear a clicking sound. This is the compressor clutch you are looking at. If the compressor is not doing this, check the fuses for the AC. If the fuses are good, then most likely the high side sensor switch is not working, therefore the clutch never engages and the air never gets cold.
With the AC on, the fan will come on to help the ac codensor. Why your compressor keeps crapping out is definately something to look into. If your AC is overcharged the head pressures can get pretty high and if the oil is low, that would not help either.. Good Luck.
