Happened to me awhile back...just load few nails..it tends to shoot to many when you load it full. break a section in half load it and it should shoot just fine.

My finish nailer is not shooting a nail every time you press the trigger. I have checked the air pressure and the nail feed and it seems to be working correctly.

Yes 2 things or better 3 things one of them or a combination is what caused the problem , the wrong nails (could be a answer a too thick equivalent nailbread) most of the time is that infirst place a problem by new sellers by new customers BUT 2 the supply mechanism that the nailbreads are bad driven
A worn or dirty scroll spring if used in your model clean it allways and if there are normal springs used control of a broken dirty or bad spring , and 3 last but not least the driver itself the point is the problem when its become to short because some models tackers have a bevel on one side of the tip and the vbevel side comes in the feed direction of the nails. After all check the most closed ring on top of the cilinder if there is one on the upper edge his should not be loose but tight. because it could be that the driverpin comes occasionally not high enough to let the top of the nail allow to pass so the driver . One of these problems is there.

It sometimes depends very much on the maintenance wondering if you timely tacker lubricates and timely dehydrates the compressor and Do not shoot at hard metal objects, which can sit intern in certain fasteners.

Usually there is too little time taken for maintenance and then its fixya .

Freeman PFN1564 shoots air when you disengage safety and pull trigger

if you mean it only shoots air when you pull trigger and not a nail , disconect from air supply and open side of nail mag. (two screws on side) look for forign object in front towards head end , sometimes the paper that nails are wrapped in gets stuck in there , also there is a small spring metal clip at front of mag is this broken off and is unusually short ?

Porter Cable FN250c wont shoot with every trigger pull. sometimes it shoots correctly (10% of the time), other times it just pops (no nail) and other times it shoots two nails at once. Also when it...

Worn trigger and or worn firing valve. Remove the trigger and look for wear on contact surfaces (worn pin that holds trigger, worn inner lever inside trigger, worn or loose firing pin in valve ). Easy test for worn trigger. Remove the nails, remove trigger, fire the gun against wood with finger to test for proper action. If it works better without trigger, consider replacing trigger with new (I would also order the oring repair kit that includes the firing valve )

My N88rh shoots two nails at a time

N88rh uses a full round head plastic collated nails which are spaced apart enough that the driver cannot hit two nails at once. If your are using other nails that fit into your magazine that are closer together you may in fact drive two nails at once. If, however you are using the correct nail and the nailer shoots twice, then you probable have a very sensitive firing valve. You could change the TVA6 valve or change the actual trigger. To overcome this problem of double firing and you do not want to try changing the firing valve, you need to change the trigger to sequential type instead of bump fire type. This trigger is usually white and will only permit one nail to be fired. Check www.toolpartsdirect.com or bostitch.com for parts. Good holiday

Senco Finishpro18 just stopped shooting nails. Took it apart, put it together. Shoots a couple of nails, then stops. press the nailer against the target, pull the trigger, and air comes out of the handle.

Do you regularly use air-tool oil placed in the air connection? If it gets a good workout every day, buy an 'inline' oiler that is inserted into the air line which automatically takes care of oiling. Hope this helps!

Leaks air around the trigger. Doesn't shoot the nails at 100psi, I think it is a F28WW Bostitch shoots the 2'' and 31/2'' nails

sounds like the trigger valve has a broken o ring and would need replaced. you can go to Bostitch.com and order one for it, they are not that hard to install.

Senco 601 nailer shoots 2 nails each time the trigger is pulled.

the 601 had a design flaw, in the nose, where the nails hit as the are being pushed forward, the peice was made out of a peice of metal that was too soft, it wore down and that is where you get the double nail problem.

Senco offered a trade in, this was years ago, for a limited time and gave us credit towards new guns, which we gladly did

I have a hitachi nv 65 ah that will shoot two nails at time

I hope this doesn't offend you. What I'm suggesting is that you may not be using your nail gun correctly. Some people keep the trigger pulled and bounce the gun onto the wood. This technique works okay, but placement accuracy of the nail suffers. The other technique is to place the gun on the wood and pull the trigger USING TWO HANDS! This is the technique suggested by the manufacturer. The problem with this technique is that if you apply insufficient pressure to the gun (USING ONE HAND) the safety is not engage so you don't shoot a nail. What usually happens - I just witnessed this a couple of weeks ago - is that not enough pressure is applied while pulling the trigger so you push harder and end up bumping the gun which shoots a nail - because you have the trigger pulled, but the nail shot was a surprise so it causes another bump (and is more apt to bounce because you're using just one hand). Because it is a machine and can operate faster than your reflexes - it shoots another nail. This happens before you can lift it off of the wood, or remove your finger from the trigger. That's the reason I keep the trigger pulled and bounce it. I know that after the bounce I've set a nail, and can remove my finger from the trigger. When I need to accurately set a nail I always use two hands, press hard and pull the trigger, and release quickly. Only pull the trigger when you know you're about to set a nail, and are poised above the workpiece.
