Check inlet water flow up to the solenoid valve. Clean the strainer attached to the hose end of the machine.

Why won't the water stay in the basin of my dishwasher? Why does the water run out of my dishwasher as it is trying to fill? The fill valve opens, water runs into the washer and directly out of the dr

There are two ways water can get out of your dishwasher. 1, it the tub is cracked and the water leaks out. If that were happening then you'd probably already know since there would be a lot of water somewhere it shouldn't be. 2, if for some reason the drain pump is "stuck" in the on position and is running while the fill valve is open. You could check this by turning the water to your dishwasher OFF and then set it to run a load. When it attempts to start you should hear the valve open and nothing more. If you can hear the drain pump running then you've narrowed the problem this far. The next step would be confirm that all mechanical switches (and/or relays) are operating correctly. Finally, you may want to look up a schematic/wiring diagram for your model and see if it shows any mechanical switches that control the drain pump (like a "high water level" switch) that could be stuck closed. Hope some of this helps.

FDB1050remo Making a squeaking sound almost as if a belt slipping. Not overloaded and nothing rubbing on washer blades. My only guess is that it may be related to low water pressure. Is that possible?

please make this test and fix it. God bless you

Drain Pump

If the dishwasher is loud during operation, the drain pump might be defective or might have some debris in it. This is a common problem.

Circulation Pump

If the dishwasher is loud during operation, and the noise is a continuous drone similar in speed to the circulation pump sound, it's likely that the circulation pump motor bearings have failed. Once this happens the circulation pump will have to be replaced, the bearings are not repairable.

Drain Impeller

If the dishwasher is loud during operation, the drain impeller might be broken, or there might be debris in the pump. Generally, to gain access to the pump the top of the pump housing will have to be removed.

Pump and Motor Assembly

If the dishwasher is loud the motor bearings, drain impeller or wash impeller might have worn out. All three of these components are part of the pump and motor assembly. It may be possible to replace one of the impellers, but the motor bearings cannot be repaired. In that case the pump and motor assembly will need to be replaced.

Wash Impeller

The wash impeller is a small, plastic blade. The motor spins the impeller forcing water through the spray arms to clean the dishes. If one or more blades has broken off of the impeller the dishwasher is loud. The impeller can also scrape against the pump housing if it is damaged, warped or bent.

Circulation and Drain Pump Motor

If the dishwasher is loud during operation, and the noise is a continuous drone similar in speed to the motor sound, it's likely that the circulation and drain pump motor bearings have failed. Once this happens the motor will have to be replaced, the bearings are not repairable.

Water Inlet Valve

The water inlet valve is an electrically controlled water valve. When it is new, the water inlet valve is very quiet. Over time, the diaphragm inside the valve deteriorates and deforms. This deformation interacts with the water rushing in and can cause a loud vibration, buzzing, squealing or other noises. If the dishwasher is loud during the filling cycle, replacing the water inlet valve may solve the problem.

Bosch shu9915uc dishwasher when turned on sounds like drain pump is running but water will not enter dishwasher. When opened the pump sound stops. I did have a plumber over right before this occurred to...

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description "dishwasher when turned on sounds like drain pump is running but water will not enter dishwasher" , it sounds like the emergency overfill switch has been actuated. Here`s what to do and what to look for.

**Turn off the breaker/power at your homes service panel...safety first of course**

Remove the the bottom panel, referred to as a toe panel or kick-plate, essentially the lower service panel shown here...

dd2a40d.jpg

When you remove the outer toe panel, there will be another small panel which is non finished steel, I find removing that allows much easier access as well.

27e2e22.jpg

This panel can be somewhat more difficult as it secures the plastic channeling for the wires but if you observe closely you`ll see it does "snap" out of place...carefully.

8d2e98d.jpg

Once the panel has been removed check for any obvious signs of water in the base ( the unit has a plastic overfill basin with a float which will actuate an emergency overfill cycle, hence the drain pump runs & runs )

f5b8d76.jpg

If you don`t see any water in this area, direct your attention to the left in this basin/bottom ( from the front to be sure ) and you should see a device which will resemble a "stir stick" you`d use for coffee etc. it will be a red in color stick.

5c066c9.jpg

With the aid of a wooden spoon, long screwdriver, or if you can manage to reach by hand, lift it up and down gently and listen for a "click".

If there is no sign of water and you can here the "click" when lifting up and down the float actuater ( red stick ) then turn the machine back on and give it a try before reassembling the toe panel so you can observe for any possible leaks.

Let me know what you find. This is the most likely cause of the symptom you are describing so we can move forward if this doesn`t resolve the issue.

Thanks for choosing FixYa. Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

My dishwasher no longer cleans my dishes and white spots remain even when jet dry is being used.

Dishwashers rely upon water circulation. Make sure there is nothing blocking the pump receiver at the bottom of the washer, like paper labels from gars, or large food pieces. It also relies upon the proper amount of water in the washer. After the washer fills and starts its cycle, squeeze the handle to open the door but do not open the door until all the sound has stopped. The water level should be visible and close to the top edge of the basin. Don't worry, opening the door after the pump has stopped will not spill water on the floor. If the water level is good and you are sure there is nothing blocking the pump receiver, check the stem in the center of the basket.

Our PLD4375RFC2 dishwasher fills up with water but doesn't run

no their is no fuse. sound to me like your motor is not working, however
the pump should still drain out.push cancel only and unit should drain if it does then id say motor bad. you can try to take apart and check motor blade ive seen toothpics, food , other objects hold motor impeller from turning making it seem like its the motor but actually its just stuck..remove btm wash arm and filter cover thentake two or 3 small screws from a plastic cover covering motor impeller, look to see if anything is in their if so remove. warning if you see a white ball down their leave it alone reinstall and see what happens. hope this helps.

After the wash cycle the unit will not empty, according to the feedback on this page they sujest a dishwater cleaner, can you tell me what type and where to obtain it.

I don't know that a dishwater cleaner will solve your problem. More than likely the pump is no onger functioning which is located on the bottom of the unit. When the dishwasher goes into the discharge cycle does it make a humming sound or does it do nothing. All pumps make sound when discharging the water from the basin. If there is no sound present then the pump is not functioning........if the pump is making a humming sound then it is locked up. Let me know please thanks.

Water pooling on bottom of dishwasher

Check the drain pump for debris that might be stopping the drain pump from working. Also could be faulty drain pump.
