Hi, draino and all those sorts of products only make it worse they will help the blockage solidify best way is to run hot water through the system even if it is boiling water from the kettle and a little bit of a pump with a plunger should do the trick

The pump just started running continously. As soon as the pump "cycles" you can hear water running back into the pump. It is an under sink model and the sink is not running.

These units have a "check" valve on the discharge pipe which is a one way flow valve. If debris or sludge get caught in the check valve it gets held open allowing water to backflow. Remove and clean or replace the check valve.

I have a Flotec Intellipump 1/4 Horsepower. I used it to drain a pool and it did just that, but when I checked on it the next morning it was barely running and would not pump water. If feel like it has...

Most pool water from the season before usually contain a lot of sediment, leaves and things like that. These pumps were not designed for continuous use, like draining a pool. Either it has a bunch of junk in it, or the motor just gave up.

Pump will not shut off

Either the float has gone bad or the float is stuck...
give it a kick or a slap and see if that dislodges the float...
If the pump continues to run, open it up and make sure the float has dropped...if it has then the float will need to be replaced...

It sounds like the float is stuck. Try pulling the wires coming out of the tank(shake them a little) and see if that will free the float and shut the pump off
