Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

Leaking from under dishwasher. Has run great since 1996. Under counter model in manufactured home. Chnaged to drop in pellet dishwasher detergent and it ran great. There is no water inside the dishwasher circular drain. We never use the heating coil to dry the dishes. We have turned off the water supply line under the sink to the dishwasher. Cool clear water is running out from under the bottom right corner. The hot water heater is right next to it and everything is dry and warm under it which is normal.

Hi,

Depending on the model you have this could be a couple of things. The most likely suspect is the water inlet valve. What I would recommend to do is take the bottom toe panel off, typically there are either 2 or 4 screws holding this panel on. Once it is off look to see if you can tell which part of the dishwasher the water is coming from.

If you could send me the brand name and the model number from the tag just inside the door I would be able to help narrow down what to check.

Thanks

Sounds like the dispenser door isn't opening. If it isn't being blocked by dishes, the dispenser door spring might be broken, the dispenser release solenoid could be faulty, or not getting power from the control panel. While you're waiting for it to get fixed, you can just put the detergent in the bottom of the dishwasher and run it on normal cycle. It also possible the dispenser door isn't opening wide enough for the puck to fall out. Make sure the door opens freely under it's own spring assist.

Dishlex 302 leaks from underneath

Good Morning Friend,

This appears to be a UK Electrolux dishwasher; however, if you have a US Electrolux model, here are a few tips you can attempt to troubleshoot the issue: First, Use only fresh detergent designed for automatic dishwashers. Measure detergent carefully. Possibly try a different brand of detergent. Secondly, spilled rinse aid can cause foam and lead to overflowing. Wipe up any spills with a damp cloth. Lastly, check to see if your dishwasher is level. If your dishwasher is still leaking, after trying the above solutions, I suggest contacting the manufacturer for further assistance. Hope this is helpful.

-Best regards-

Hi, I have a Maytag Mdb8959sas dishwasher that was leaking during a normal wash cycle. I pulled the dishwasher out from under the counter and saw that it appears to be leaking directly below the point...

I will assume that you have cleaned gasket around door and at washer. Quite often a build up of scale at lower gasket surfaces is all that is causing leak.

Drain pump won't turn off

Hi,

The reason the drain pump continously runs is because it is trying to remove any water too avoid any further flood as there is a flood in the base of the unit which activates the float switch and constantly activates the drain pump until the water has gone. Isolate the unit at the power switch and remove the bottom panel under the door panel. Dry up the water as best possible with a towel. Run the unit again and check for any water leaks. You may just have over sudded the unit with too much detergent. Only use 2 teaspoons of powder. To start with while testing don't use any detergent. Good luck

Hope this helps.

Water leaking from top dishdrawer

This is very rare in any dishwasher. I use to repair most all dishwahers. First check your door seal for any cracks, cuts or splits. The water inside is under great pressure and can push out from the top of the door if that is is weak, flat, or has anykind of cut or crack. If the leak indeed is coming from the top then you will need to get someone to help you pull out unit and check top for cracks or splits. This entire housing is plastic and may have come with crack. If your washer has a hose at the top, then check it good. While its out from under the counter run it and watch to see if you can tell where leak is coming from. I may have missed something. Remember, always unplug this from wall outlet or turn off breaker if you are indeed moving it in or out. Good luck.
