I need to restore my acer to factory settings


Hi,

You can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction. NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer.

You can also create a set to Recovery disk from the recovery partition, to do so

Start Menu> All Programs> Acer erecovery management> Click Create Factory Default Disk, if you receive any error code or unable to burn the disk, please contact Acer Technical support at 1 800 816 2237 and order for an Recovery Disk.

I've looked at the ACER Website and it appears that you should try to boot to SAFE MODE by pressing F8 at boot. If you're able to do so, you should find the ACER eRocovery application in the Programs Menu. This may allow you to recover from a hidden recovery partition, or it may require you to have made a set of recovery discs with the eRecovery Utility that came with the system. If you did not do so, then your only alternative would be to contact ACER and ask if you can purchase a set of recovery CD's.
I've had a lot of luck contacting ACER Corporate at the following phone number and pleading my case for the product owner and gotten great customer service this way, much better than calling the regular support number.

I have an acer aspire AST180 UA381B and I need the system restore disks but they do not carry them anymore. What can I do?


I would suggest you install Linux Mint 10, a free operating system.

Without the restore disks,you would have to buy a new Windows CD. Have a friend burn an ISO image of Linux Mint. Just go to www.linuxmint.com, and there are lots of helpful tips there on how to install. Linux Mint has a similar feel to Windows, so it should be good!

How do i hook up a wireless internet on a acer notebook,


Hi,

If your computer has wireless adpater then you do not need any drivers to install the wireless. The wireless router should automatically detect the network. First check if your computer is detecting any networks. To do so, click on the wireless icon on your computer taskbar nearby to system time (bottom right hand corner), if you are able to see your wireless network, if yes, select it and click connect, once connected, open IE and try to access web page. If in case you are not able to view any web page and connection remains active, I suggest you try to connect in "Safemode with Networking", to do so, restart the computer and as soon as it restarts keep on tapping F8 key, now select "Safemode with Networking" from the Advance boot menu. Try to connect to internet. If you are able to connect to Internet then the issue is with the firewall on you computer, contact the firewall manufacture for settings. If you are still unable to connect to Internet, then the Internet setting are not correct, you may need to contact the ISP.

My Acer Veriton Z290 G, I cannot find the wireless network adapter. When I try to set up a profile to connect it, it says no connections available. I can connect through a wired ethernet connection.

You can contact them and they would be able to advise you where one may be. Also try going to Google and typing your location and "Acer computer repair". This should bring up a list of computer repair shops in your area. Here is Acer's contact info.

reset the computer when the splash screen comes on press alt F10 this will bring you to the Acer RECOVERY screen click on the top one restore to factory conditition,this will bring you back to day 1.good luck.

contact the company you bought it from - they are legally responsible for a 1 year warranty. They wil probably tell you that you would be better contacting Acer direct - so ask them for contact details or you will return it to them.
