When you turn on the power it turns off right away. You can hear a click when you turn it on and then it clicks off.

Unplug all of your speaker connections and try switching it on again.
if it stays on, make sure you have the correct speakers in the correct terminals and make sure no strands from the speakers are touching any thing else.
Also if you have changed any of the cables it could be a protection mode, you need to match the correct impedance wire to the original speaker cabling.

As indicated before, if the speaker wires are removed and this still happens, then the unit has an internal problem. The 2nd click is the unit powering down because of a problem detected in the final stage of the amp.

The typical cause of this is shorted outputs. You can expect a parts cost in the $20-$40 range.

Could be the power board or main board defective, but I suggest you do firmware update first. Go to http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=KDL42V4100&LOC=3#div_pos_30 download the software.

Engine starting problem

Problem is probably the starter motor. The windings probably have a burnt spot and wont turn over readly.

I replaced the bad capacitor and now!?

Are you sure the flyback was clicking? Usually it arc's inside or externally to metal chassis. There is a relay that clicks on & off , which could be what you are hearing. Your bad cap, is it in the power supply or near the flyback? A regulator is more of a possibility than the flyback.
