I am unable to connect my PC from other computers through VNC, I am having Win 7, 32 bit OS, please help

You need to open the VNC remote ports in the router to be able to connect from an external address.
The ports need to be forwarded to the internal IP address of the computer you want to remote into.

My icons arent showing up after i ssh

Assuming that you are using the term "SSH" correctly:
SSH is a protocol used to remotely access the command line for a remote machine, usually linux.
SSH provides no direct way to share a desktop or any other graphical interface.
However, with a lot of configuration, it may be possible to use it to form a secure link by which you can open a VNC connection, which does share the graphical environment.

How do I set the remote access code.... I have a 6.0

RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol ) that is described above is the most ideal and best solution, but it is only available in XP Pro...not sure what vista ver, probably not home edition. If it isn't available on your PC your only realistic alternative other than using something like GOTOMYPC is VNC.

You'll have to install VNC (sourced below) and open up port 5900 to the internet on your router to your computer's IP. In these circumstances it not a bad idea to make your computer IP Static, so it doesn't change on you. Also look in your router for something called DDNS. you can sign up with websites like DYNDNS.ORG and you can reference your house by NAME instead of IP In the future. and it updates with you IP changes.

To access from work you will have to use a VNC client or the JAVA web client on port 5800. ..so basicly you would install VNC and both locations or find a "vnc viewer" tight vnc has a standalone viewer if needed. just google it

If all this is too confusing, seriously just use gotomypc...it costs a little bit, but its super easy Source(s): http://www.uvnc.com/download/

Port forward VNC server. Not able to connect vnc viwer from external network.

What VNC product are you using? RealVNC? TightVNC? UltraVNC? The VNC software you installed will have a port# assigned to it by default (probably 5900) which can be configured. Find out what that is and forward that port# to the IP of your VNC "server." That should do it.

(don't fogot about any software firewalls on the VNC "server" machine)

Getting a message about shadowing my session

The program you are using is telling the terminal to accept a VNC request, as it will send date on the port open for VNC. So the terminal is asking you to accept the prompt to allow a remote machine to control your session.

You can set the program to ignore the VNC ports, so it wont get prompted. Failing that you should be able to change the terminals behavior to the requests by editing the wnos.ini to not allow VNC connections. I think that can be done from there. Check on the config generator for wyse terminals on technicalhelp.de to find the correct syntax.

Remote desktop

Here is a short list of applications that can be used.
1) VNC (Virtual Network Computing) is a remote display system which allows the user to view the desktop of a remote machine anywhere on the internet. It can also be directed through SSH for security.
Basically you install VNC server on the server and install client on your local PC. Setup is extremely easy and server is very stable. On client side, you can set the resolution and connect to IP of VNC server. It can be a bit slow compared to Windows remote desktop and also has the tendency to take more time refreshing over low-bandwidth links. All in all VNC is an amazing piece of free software that gets the job done.
There is RealVNC , TightVNC and UltraVNC. Each has it’s advantages and disadvantages. Most popular one is RealVNC but if you’re upto it, experiment with all three and choose the one that works for you best. By default, communication between client and server is in clear text on port 5900. However, you can easily route all traffic via SSH tunnel. Here is a quick way of setting it up if you have access to command line shell:
ssh -ND 5900 <user>@remote.server.com
When you get prompted, enter your password. Pop open VNC client and connect to ‘localhost’. This’ll route your connection to VNC server on remote machine.
You can download VNC from:
  1. http://www.realvnc.com/download.html
  2. http://www.tightvnc.com/download.html
  3. http://www.uvnc.com/
2) Then there is FreeNX. FreeNX is a system that allows you to access your desktop from another machine over the internet. You can use this to login graphically to your desktop from a remote location. One example of its use would be to have a FreeNX server set up on your home computer, and graphically logging in to the home computer from your work computer, using a FreeNX client. It provides near local speed application responsiveness over high latency, low bandwidth links.
FreeNX can be configured to run via SSH without any tunneling. It binds to your existing SSH install. Instead of guiding you through the installation of FreeNX in this article, you can visit the following URLs that’ll guide you through the installation on Ubuntu:
  1. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FreeNX
  2. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=97277&highlight=freenx
  3. http://freenx.berlios.de/ (FreeNX homepage)
3) The third free application is 2X Terminal Server for Linux. 2X TerminalServer for Linux is an Open Source project, licensed under the GPL and is free of charge. As far as performance goes, NoMachine’s technology is on par with Windows’ own Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) suite, better than VNC. Both X2 and FreeNX is based on NoMachine technology.
Here are some quick links if you’re interested in using this software:
  1. Download at http://www.2x.com/terminalserver/download.htm
  2. Forum is at http://www.2x.com/forums
4) The last but not least at all is XDMCP. The X Display Manager Control Protocol uses UDP port 177. Compared to the list above, it’s not as easy to setup for remote desktop but it’s the original way of doing this on Linux. You can get setup instructions and other tips in the following URL:
  1. http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/XDMCP-HOWTO/intro.html
In conclusion, there are many commercial products that are available as well. But this article is only based on open source products that can be freely used with no strings attached.

Router sharing

It sounds like your computers are virtually connected somehow by Remote Desktop or VNC. VNC stands for Virtual Network Computing. It is remote control software which allows you to view and fully interact with one computer desktop (the "VNC server") using a simple program (the "VNC viewer") on another computer desktop anywhere on the Internet.

Your best bet would be to hold the reset button down at the back of your router for around 15 to 20 seconds. The router will then be back to the factory presets it was shipped with and should hopefully negate the problem.

Please let me know if this helps. Good luck!

Remote access

Yes it is. You can use the vnc server and client utilities for this. Install VNC server on all the linux pcs. Then install the windows version of vnc on the pc you want to connect FROM.

Give the ip address of the linux pc you wish to connect to, and lo, you get the same desktop that is on the linux pc. Of course you can configure password protection.

Another easy but techie way to connect is with telnet or ssh command after enabling these services on the linux pc.
