Hello, i broke the screen on my laptop wanting to switch it to my desktop monitor but for some reason it wont switch over. unfortunately since i cant see the screen i cant get into my startup menu any...

First, disconnect the laptop from the ac adapter and take off the battery and the memory. Press the reset button on your laptop. Connect your ac adapter only and press the power button two or three time while everything else is disconnected. Then, re-install your memory and your battery. Connect the ac adapter to the laptop and to your power source. Now turn on your laptop and see if you get a display on your laptop screen. If you do, then you have reset everything and you are back to where you started. Good luck and let me know how it goes.

My laptop has a black screen. The lights are on and I can hear the motor and fan.

I'm assuming that when you turned it on, all you got was a black screen (you didn't say anything different).
First, make sure your laptop screen has been chosen as the display screen. On each laptop, there is a Fn and special function key combo that will allow you to switch between the laptop and an external monitor. Press that combination of keys several times.
Next try to boot in safe mode by restarting the computer and pressing F8 until you see the menu.
Next, connect an external monitor to the SVGA port.
If none of these is working for you, your video card has most likely quit on you.

When I switch on my maxdata eco 4011 iw, I can

Most laptops have a plug for an external monitor. Plug one up and if it doesn't work, it is your integrated video, if it does work, then it is your screen, or the cable going to the screen. Did it flicker when you moved the screen? That's the answer between cable and screen.

There is also a screen switch. There is a blue FN key by your ctrl & Alt button on your keyboard, then someone on F4 or F5 keys is a picture of a screen [ ] hold the FN key and press that F key and see if the screen comes on. Some times it get stuck in the wrong mode.

Please leave good feedback if this worked for you.

SCREEN WONT TURN ON

Connect an external monitor (CRT or LCD) to the laptop's "VGA-out" port. Then, turn your laptop on. Does it show the usual "start-up" screen, on the external monitor? If so, then either your laptop's screen is totally-dead, or the "LCD-inverter" (a $20 part that takes $50 for a technician to replace) needs replacement.

Or, does your laptop have a key-sequence (LCD-screen-only, LCD-and-external, external-only) that needs to be used to select LCD-only mode?

You hear the sound like a buzzer? try this steps, open the cover of the computer. Remove the memory and video card from the PCI slot of the computer, clean the PCI slot using a brush and clean also the memory and video card using the same brush. Then put it as before, then turned on the computer again. let see if you got the same problem as before.

HI-GRADE Intel Core T2080

Hi.
Intermittent faults like this are very common in laptops. It is most likely cracked soldering on the mainboard. Sometimes it can be repaired, or it may need a board replacement. Unfortunately, paying the big money doesn't mean high quality these days. Just look at the failure rate of Apple laptops as a good example. A friend of mine has had 16 failures in the top spec Macbook.
