It too early to make a comment about the orifice location, but I thank you for the information.

It is either in the grill,or in the liquid line going to the evaporator, look for a swelled portion of the line.follow the small line from the evaporator to the condenser,it will be in there, one end of the line,or the other, needle nose pliers helps to get it out, sometimes you have to feel for the tube with the pliers, cause you can not see it.

1999 windstar, rear heater was only blowing on med/high no stoppe

be prepared to renew both the blower motor and blower resistor. if it were just a bad resistor it should work on hi-speed only. make sure you have power to the motor when on hi speed. bad blower motors will kill the resistor. follow the water tubes from under the drivers side of van to the point where they enter the van, that is where unit would be located on the inside. be prepared to remove some seats and wall covers.

Try this article. I have the same problem and I think it is the vacuum motor that controls the door for changing from hot/cold in the rear heater box (located inside behind the L rear wheel)

Should be on inside of frame just behind the driver door. You will need the tool to pull off lines.
