I have also done a continuity check on the radar wiring. All looks in order.

I am going to take down the radar and have it bench tested by a Raymarine agent. It is rotating, but no echos until manual gain is near 85% then 360 degree clutter.

I have the same problem, unit is 8 years old. When I switch the radar on it says the radome is connected and responding, when I press transmit there is no image. Increasing gain has no effect until nearly 100 % then the screen becomes black

I got the radar down on Wenesday 11th June and into the agent on thursday. Today he tells he to call him this day next week as he is too busy just to hook it up to bench test it, in fact he told me to take it away if I was not happy with this. That is what you call service. I am in Ireland by the way. I did speak to Raymarine technical guy in the US and we went through all the setting, he was most helpful and pleasant. . He said it would have to be bench tested. I will now have to find someone who can do the job. I told the agent if I treated my customers like that I would not have any left. I also told him I was flabergasted with his attitude. I will not buy Raymarine again unless I get a better service.

If you're using a raystar 125 antenna, you will have to power the red wire + and the shield wire - separately. Sl70's don't provide power over seatalk. Also make sure your green and brown wires are properly connected. If it's a 120 just power the red and sheild(black) and leave off the all except the yellow that's your data. If you still have nothing may probably have a problem in the antenna itself.

Raymarine radar won't power up

Check the wiring to the scanner, eventually test with a multimeter the volt at the scanner, so to find out if the scanner is getting power.

If wires testing reads ok, then probably you have a faulty scanner, and you need to replace it.

No radar target images

Sounds like your video cable inside your radar cable. Also brings your Gain back to zero, STC back to Zero and rain back to zero. Next increase your gain until you see a picture. If none of that is working, check your cable then finally call a dealer.

Antenna not rotating

It sounds like voltage loss could be your issue. You need to find the "Y" cable under the dashboard and measure the voltage at the point where it connects to the main 12V supply. Keep the meter on and then spin up the radar. If there is a fuse (there should be) make sure you are measuring on the radar side of the fuse. If the voltage drops off as the radar slows, you have found your problem. If the voltage stays constant and the connections are sound at the terminations in the radar pedestal, I would recommend you send the pedestal in to Raymarine.

Scanner self test result...is display comms/fail /raymarine c80 18" dome

Chances are that your scanner cable may be bad. Check inside the dome and make sure that the little wires going into the black connector from the radar cable are seated correctly and all the way in. This can cause tons of problems. Also check to make sure that your pins in the back of you unit are not corroded or broken off.

Raymarine G series radar

Your problem is likely noise from the motor. Modern diesels use high speed networks, so it could be interference. Next likelihood would be a software issue. Is the diesel set up to display info on the G display?
Solution could be re routing cables, grounding or un grounding devices. First step is to send your processor to Raymarine, sorry, necessary step to eliminate hardware failure. This is a tough symptom, so do the easy stuff first.
