According to Apple, if you have forgotten the code, you can unlock the
IPod by doing the following:
Connect your IPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one
IPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the
computer, it will no longer be locked.
If you can't unlock IPod using either [the code or connecting it to the
computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to
factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase
all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back
to your iPod.
If you want to change the primary computer that your IPod is associated
with, do this:
1. Restore your iPod. Warning: The restore process cannot be undone.
All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of
your important data.
2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary
computer.
3. Open iTunes and synchronize.
Apple also notes that company "representatives cannot unlock an iPod if
you forget your combination. If you can't unlock your iPod and you don't
have access to the primary computer, your only option is to restore the
IPod, which will erase all music and data."
Good Luck, I hope this helps
Please do not forget to rate me...Thank You

My ipod nano is not working...i just connect it 2 the charger nd when i just removed the charger after charging......it just fall down on carpet.............................nd i have use ipod many times...

Have you tried to reset it? If you own the new iPod Nano, you will know that it does not have the click wheel anymore.
What you need to do here is: Press the Sleep/Wake button and the Volume Down button simultaneously till the Apple logo appears on the screen.
You may need to try the procedure a few more times before it works, and you can even try connecting it to a computer and then hard resetting it if the instructions still do not work.

Connect your iPod to the computer it was connected to the first time and try to restore it. If that doesn't work, go to My Computer on your computer, then select your ipod. Right click on your ipod icon and select format. Formating your ipod through your computer will erase everything, but it will effectively unlock it.

I forgot the 4-digit combination to my Ipod nano how do i unlock it?

After completing the following, your iPod will become a password recovery disk, which will allow recovering your system password in case you get locked out. Note: This tutorial is only works for WinXP.
Required Items:

  • Windows XP Home/Pro
  • iPod Nano or iPod Video
  • USB-iPod Connection Cable
Set Up Procedure:
1) Connect your iPod to your machine and verify that it appears as a standard drive in "My Computer". (ex: "Joe's iPod (G:)")
Note: If it doesn't appear and you have iTunes Installed, make sure "disk use" is enabled.
2) Go To Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Select Your Account -> Related Tasks - > "Prevent a forgotten password". A Wizard should appear.
3) Select Your iPod's Drive Name -> Enter Current Password -> Finish

Once complete your iPod should be setup as a password recovery disk. Do not delete the "userkey" file, which you may see when browsing your iPod's contents. To test your recovery disk do a quick Log Off and try logging in with an incorrect password. Select "use password reset disk". Then proceed and select your iPod's drive name. If all goes well it should you will be allowed to create a new password.
Note: Non-iPod users can use the same procedure to save the "userkey" file to a Thumbdrives, CDs, floppy, Memory Sticks, etc.

Is there a way to override or reset the password on the iPod Nano

Unfortunately, if the password has been forgotten, you will have to "Restore" the iPod, which will erase all the songs and other files that are currently on there.

To update or restore iPod nano:
1 Make sure you have an Internet connection and have installed the latest version of
iTunes from www.apple.com/ipod/start.
2 Connect iPod nano to your computer.
3 In iTunes, select iPod nano in the Source pane and click the Summary tab.
The Version section tells you whether iPod nano is up to date or needs a newer version
of the software.
4 Click Update to install the latest version of the software.
5 If necessary, click Restore to restore iPod nano to its original settings (this erases all data
from iPod nano). Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the restore process.

If your iPod nano won’t turn on or respond
1) Make sure the Hold switch is off.

2) If that doesn’t work, connect iPod nano to your computer’s USB or FireWire port. Your
iPod nano battery might need to be recharged.

3) If that doesn’t work, your iPod nano might need to be reset.

a) Toggle the Hold switch on and off (set it to Hold, and then turn it off again).
b)Press and hold the Center and Menu buttons for at least 6 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

4) If that doesn’t work, you might need to restore iPod nano software.
