Question about Hoover U5227-930 Elite Upright Vacuum

Replacing leaf spring Hoover wheels

The leaf spring has come out of our Hoover U5227-930 and I can't quite figure out how to put it back so that it will work properly. I see a slot where I think one end of the clip goes but when I put the wheels back on it doesn't feel right. Any suggestions on how the clip goes in??

Are you talking about a small, metal clip that attaches to the smaller set of wheels that act as the carpet adjuster?

My floormate leaks water on the floor in puddles, even when I am not holding down the lever to wash.

Ok when replacing the Spring stem and rubber seal. Put the spring on the stem set it in the hole of the solution tank carefully hold it steady then pull the stem out slip the rubber seal onto the stem with the cupped side facing down toward inside of the tank press it over the rim on the stem so it stays in place then take the stem slip it into the solution tanks hole inside the spring and press the rubber seal into the inside of the tank.
I posted this so no one else goes threw the trouble I went through until I figured it out for my self I lost the parts and did not remember how the thing went back together and could find no help anywhere. Good Luck, Ray

The wheels with the spring broke off and I'm trying to put a new one on but I don't know where the spring goes.

This spring can be very confusing to install. It slides onto the wheel assembly near where the attaching pin is longer ( there are flat protrusions on both sides of the wheel assembly). One end of the spring pushes up on the assembly when it is in place, and the free end must be pulled down and inserted into the small slot in the bottom of the base. Pull down on the shorter end of the spring, holding the longer end, and slide it onto the round area on the wheel assembly. As you put the wheels back on, pull on the longer end and insert it into the slot in the base.

My son dropped the Hoover Floormate hard floor cleaner and a black piece with a spring came out. I dont know where it goes, and now the handle wont stay up.

From your description you have an issue with the pedal release in the base. this model is the original series, and I would not put too much money in the repair. not an easy cover to remove. check the base wheel assembly. the black pivot points break on these when dropped. If it is broke the part itself cost about $18. Cosider the overall performance and other repair items to determine worthwhile repair.

Hoover Windtunnel Bagless bolt fell off

With this self propell series, the entire bottom needs to come apart to re-install the nut. if it is one month old I would highly recommend taking it in for warranty service. What plastic is melted?

Replacing spring in wheel height adjustment

I just solved the problem. Go to this website:
It will show you where the spring goes (left side inside the ratchet - when you remove the ratchet you will see that it is hollow. That's where the spring goes!) and a good picture of that assembly

How to install front wheel assembly on Hoover Bagless windtunnel vaccuum

There is a spot that sticks up on the holder for the wheels, the hole in the spring goes there, then it fits between the holder and the base asm.04f5295.jpg
