Question about Sansui HDLCD-4212 LCD TV

1 Answer

The thing is, the damage is not visible at all...the screen has a crack in it and the crack is only visible when the TV is turned on (the TV goes on but obviously, the picture doesn't come up). Would this be a easy, inexpensive fix or will I be paying more than it cost?

My lcd tv was knocked over repair man says it cant be fixed due to the tube being damaged is this right

If your lcd appears broken when you turn it on if there are cracks visible, the cost to repair would be beyond the value of the tv. I have attached the retail price for a new screen from a Philips supplier.

My daughter threw a toy at the tv. The TV is not cracked but the is a splash colour on the screen. can it be fixed/

Hi, Unfortunately this is a crack internally, the spalsh of colour is the Liquid Crystals running through the cracks, the cracks can be very fine and not visible because of the spread of liquid. this can't be fixed, it would require a new screen which could be very expensive if you can get one.

you could try claiming on household insurance if it covers for things like this.

Hope this helps.

My NOkia 6070 felled and the scree turned blue. I restarted it but still the screen blue it doesnot show any thing on the screen. Please help

Possible there is damage on the main board and could be cracked. So my advice is to get this checked at the Nokia care to get and estimate if you are not able to open and look for visible damage that can be soldered.

How to fix a broken screen? How much will it cost?

Sorry. The replacement screen is nearly as expensive as the TV. It probably will cost more to fix than the TV is worth. Just do the correct thing and look for a new TV!

My Sharp Aquos LC-42D62U 42 in. HDTV LCD which was bumped into pretty hard and the inside screen on the tv cracked. The crack is only visible when the tv is on can this be fixed or is it garbage

Unfortunatly it is garbage basically.. You can have them repaired using a TV Repair guy but often it costs as much as a brand new LCD. My daughter broke my $1,600 LCD. It would have cost $1,200 to fix.. so I just bought a new one. After that I picked up a TV screen protector called TV Armor http://www.tv-armor.com Its designed to protect the TV from damage. Now I dont have to worry anymore when she is playing near it. It works really well.

KDL46W4100 no picture small white crack is visible when turned on. Crack got longer and eventually went across entire screen. People have told me the lcd is broken and it's not worth fixing - ie the part...

Yes, thats correct.
If lcd tv screen got hit by some thing then lcd panel got cracked and does show distorted lines or cracks instead of picture and lcd panel have to be replaced that would cost you 70% to 80% of new tv price.
New TV is better option.

HP-T4254 Samsung Plasma - Cracked Screen

This appears to be more common than Samsung lets people know. There isobviously a manufacturing defect. Same thing happened to my tv and it was only 4 months old. Samsung refuses to honor their warranty claiming it's physical damage...no kiding...there was a pop like a small firecracker going off inside the TV and the screen broke. You think think with this kind of catostrophic failure there would be physical damage? We're going after Samsung (BBB, FTC, small claims, etc.), if we can get enough people maybe go class-action.
