Pop the wings out, put your fingers under the bottom edge of the jet pack and pull hard. The Jet pack comes right off and the wings stay attached to the toy. This gives you access to the battery compartment.

You should be able to repair the broken light. Its probably the connecting wire that comes from the wing to the PCB has a break in it. Take out the 4 deeply recessed screws in the back of Buzz (not the 2 plastic fake ones in his back pack).Take off the chest plate. Take a photo of all the connections - you will need this if you start unplugging arm, torso or head wiring. The wings plug in to the top left of the PCB. Check the plug is in then look for am obvious break in the wiring.I have just replaced the wing tension spring on the right wing and I had to make a custom brass tool to hold the spring under tension with the nylon cam and screw.Rob
