Kenmore 70 series washing machine won't start draining after washing, the water just sits.

Sounds like you probably have a broken lid switch, without an exact model number its hard to be sure. If you normally have to close the lid for the washer to drain and spin that is probably the part that is broken. Pretty common for that model. With the lid switch broken the washer acts like the lid is open and won't begin the drain/spin process. Hope this helps.

Haier HLP20E washing machine won't spin & drain.

Haier HLP20E washing machine won spin drain Google Search

Cause 1Lid Switch Assembly The lid switch assembly prevents the washer from spinning when the lid is open. If the lid switch assembly fails, the washer will not spin. To determine if the lid switch assembly is defective, use a multimeter to test the lid switch for continuity. If the lid switch does not have continuity, replace it.
Parts Cause 2Motor Coupling
The motor coupling connects the motor to the washing machine transmission. If the washer is overloaded, the motor coupling will fail in order to protect both the motor and transmission. The motor coupling can also fail due to normal wear. Inspect the motor coupling to determine if it is broken. If the motor coupling is broken, replace it.
Parts Cause 3Drive Belt
Inspect the drive belt to determine if it is broken or if it is loose on the pulleys. If the drive belt is broken or loose, replace it.

My washing machine drains, but when on a cycle the drum doesn't move at all and it doesn't go into spin mode?

Check the actuator for the lid switch to make sure it isn't bent or broken. To find the lid switch, look for a pin on the lid that goes through a hole in the top of the machine when the lid is closed. The lid switch actuator is under this hole. If you can't see the actuator lever through the hole, it's probably bent off to the side or broken off. It's also possible to see it, but it's bent down to far to be actuated by the pin. If the lid is bent or the pin is broken off, that would have the same effect.

Washer fills agitates but wont drain

Hello,

The usual problem when that type washer does not drain/spin is a broken lid switch. The lid switch is mid center side of the rim of the lid opening when looking at the washer from the front.ina lot of case by looking in that area ya can see where its broken and hanging down,if ya can not see it phyisically broken ya can open the lid and close it slowly and listen for a click when the lid is mostly closed,do this a couple times,if ya do no thear a click when lid is almost closed the switch will be the problem

This youtube video will show ya how to replace the lid switch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFsvLiuTniU

There are two wires attached to the lid switch, just connect them together and the machine will work as normal. Please take care not to open the lid while it is operating. This switch is a safety cutout.

Kenmore elite not spinning

This issue is caused by:

- Lid open. Be sure the lid is correctly closed
- Lid switch broken. It may need to be replaced.
- Motor broken. QUite expensive repair, the motor needs to be replaced.
- Timer broken.

Check the lid is correctly closed, perhaps the lid switch is having some failures.

My kenmore washing machine will not enter into the last cycle and will not rinse out. Silly as it may seem banging on top of the machine with the lid closed sometimes gets the machine to start again and...

Hi, check lid switch, open lid, check carefully locate lid switch, or lift top of machine, get access to lid switch, could be broken or faulty, also check all wiring harnesses, there could be loose connection, check timer connections, all other connection, but first check your lid switch. when you lift lid, look for small slot, on machine around area lid covers, use something to press and release lid switch, preferable something non conductive, i use a small screwdriver. it could be just broken / faulty lid switch, or loose connection, you can check yourself, or let someone check for you, that's no big deal, always switch off power, before doing any repairs. good luck.

Broken disk lid

Not sure if you can find a replacement lid but you may be able to play DVD's if you manually depress the small switch that the lid would engage if it were closed. The switch is located where the lid hinges at the right side, you should see a small rectangular hole. The switch can be depressed through that hole. Of cousre, your DVD will be spinning with no lid to protect it but just don't touch it while the disc is playing. When done playing, you can just turn the unit off or remove whatever you used to engage the small lid switch.
