Remove the cover on the outside unit that covers the circuit board and contactor and capacitor. Then start the unit and set the thermostat so that the unit cuts off. Then go back to the outside unit and see if the contactor is still pulled in and the unit is running. Next open the breaker and see if the contactor drops out. If it doesn't your contactor could be stuck. Try to free it or replace it. If not the problem could be in the circuit board.

Testimonial: "contacter was welded shut. replaced contacter.working good now."

You can also use a voltmeter to check for 24VAC coming from the thermostat to the outside unit on the yellow wire. If you have that when the thermostat has been satisfied and cut the a/c off then your thermostat could be shot. There will be 24VAC on the red wire. Check the yellow wire to ground for 24 vac.

Does this model shut off automatically when the desired room temperature is reached or does it function on a low medium high type of thermostat that continuously runs? IR 3 0 p m d g - 1

if it is an inverter type air conditioner ( make not indicated) the unit runs continually but the compressor delivery is reduced thereby reducing the load on the motor
as the room warms up again the compressor starts to pump more gas to keep the room at the desired temp setting
older types shut the compressor down and restarted when the high temp was reached

My furnace will not reach the desired house temperature in one cycle. It will run for several minutes, shut off, and repeat. It eventually reaches the desired temp but it take a long time and I feel it...

There are a few different reasons for short cycling of a furnace.
1. Inadequate air flow. Not enough air moving through the furnace can cause it to overheat and trip the high temperature limit switch.
check to see that all registers are open and returns are not blocked.
2 Improper heat anticipator setting on thermostat. Some thermostats have a heat anticipator and too low of a setting can cause short cycling.

4 Partially blocked drain hoses. If the condensate backs up into the furnace it can shut the flame off and then when the condensate drains the furnace starts again. Check all drain hoses to make sure they are clear.
These are just some of the possible reasons for short cycling .
Hope this helps.

Lennox furnace that has a loud buzzing noise when running to reach desired temperature.

I would start with some basic maintenance shut off. open front pannels vacuume out all accesable areas.use a plastic nozzle with a paint brush to loosen dirt.Change or clean filtration system follow manufactures cleaning procedures.Oil the bearings on blower motor and squirel cage. Then visually inspect any arking witness marks for loose connections.Start it up and listen for improvements.

My Payne furnace is NOT producing the desired heat anymore. Any ideas?

Hello, it could be shutting down on it's high limit switch due to a dirty air filter, dirty blower wheel, weak blower motor. Usually this would cause the furnace to shut down before it reaches the desired temp.

Model Number: UACC-036JAS The unit works fine. The problem is it doesn't shut down after the specified temperature has been reached. The furnace blower shuts down, but the ac unit keeps on running....

Hello, usually a stuck contactor coil will cause this on the outside unit. When the outdoor unit runs continously and the indoor blower does not run no heat is being absoebed by the evaporator coil and thus the line freezes. Replaceing the contactor will fix the problem.

The blower fan does not shut off when it reaches the set temperature. Compressor shuts off but fan continues to run making the air inside very humid. Temperature is getting cold.

First, forgive me, but I have to throw the obvious out there......make sure the fan switch is in AUTO and not ON.
If the blower will not stop operating unless the main supply feed is shut off, you have a stuck blower relay that will need to be replaced.

How do you set the temperature

If you have an air conditioner with a temperature display, use the up or down arrows on the touch pad to change the temperature setting.

However, if you have an air conditioner with only a dial that goes from 1 to 8 (or whatever number), turn the dial up as high as it goes and put the fan speed on high. When the desired comfort level is reached, slowly turn the dial down until the compressor just shuts off. You will be able to hear when this happens.

If the temperature gets a bit too warm turn the dial up in small increments and wait an hour or so to see if your comfort level is reached.

I have a comfort zone furnace. If it's 50 degrees in the house, and i set my thermostat to 70 or so,it takes at least 24 hours to reach 70 degrees. The furnace starts up and runs normally for about five...

When the thermostat calls for heat it should run until the room reaches the temperature setting then shut off. Is the blower motor running and can you feel air coming out of the vents? It sounds like the blower is either not running or putting out enough air to keep the furnace heating. The blower moves the heat from the heat exchanger to the room, if it can't remove enough heat from the heat exchanger there is a limit switch that will shut the burner off if it gets to hot and that's what it sounds like is happening.
