Hi - I got a new ryobi linetrimmer/brushcutter RBC30PHT last summer , only used it a couple of hours before the winter. Now when I open the throttle fully it goes slow and splutters. If I open the throttle slowly it will accelerate and pick up slowly. Any suggestions ? Thanks, David

SOURCE: ryobi 4stroke brush cutter, fading on full throttle

This running pattern often indicates a lean fuel mix.

Unfortunately, with today's environmental hysteria, you probably will not be able to adjust the carburetor enough to get it to run better. If you do have any carburetor adjustment available, try turning the screw (the high speed screw, if there are two) counter-clockwise a bit. This will allow more gas into the mixture. Most small engines today have limiter caps that prevent very much carburetor adjustment.

SOURCE: carb replaced last may was still undr warranty

If you had stored it with fuel in it, then the fuel has gone bad. That will cause it to not start. Today's fuel with ethanol is murder on small engines when stored with this fuel in it without stabilizer. This is not a design problem, it is a government problem with the mandating of ethanol added to the gas. This is a problem for ALL small engines. It is very common, and you are probably going to have to clean the carburetor, replace the diaphrams, replace fuel lines and fuel filter, and the primer bulb.

I hope this helps you get running again.

How to change from summer to winter

Can you give a little more info? Usually depending on where you live, people use de-humidifiers in the summer and humidifiers in the winter. If you need a humidifier year around, there should be nothing you need to do uther than filter cleaning and checking the water valve and cleaning the pan of mineral deposits. Depending on your water, you might need to pour a cup of limeaway in your pan and let it run for a couple hours. Then drain it, flush it, and let it keep running.

I have a Ryobi brushcutter that is 4 years old. When I was using it the other day it just would not run at full throttle. I checked spark plug, air filter and fuel filter. No adjustments on carb. I have no...

Smokey 2 cycle oil will cause the exhaust ports to carbon up and plug the spark arrestor.
Remove the muffler, use a pick to clean out the exhaust port on the engine, and the muffler inside opening, then clean the spark arrestor screen, to assure yourself you are correcting the problem start the machine up with the muffler off, it should run like a charm, if it goes back to running badly when you reattach the muffler it may be clogged on the inside.

Do I need Special grease for Brushcutter/Trimmer shaft

No grease is grease but there is sillicone used nowadays as it just looks clean to use. Now check if it does use some kind of oil in the system.
