My brand new, fully -charged, never dropped, never neglected psp will suddenly freeze while playing or loading, then it will give out an internal "POP" and turn off.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have a sony psp -1001 that I can play for a few minutes and then it will shut down.

If it happens when you are running on battery that would indicate the battery went bad. This is an older device, if the battery has never been replaced... "it's time". If it shuts down when the power adapter is plugged in then the problem is much worse.
Does the power light blink even fa short time before it shuts down?

I want to change my region code on my psp but i dont know how

Here is what you have to do...
Completely shut down your psp and then turn it on while holding the R button and the Recovery Menu will come up. Go to Configuration and you should see the UMD Region option. By clicking X select your Region.
*This won't work for movies, only movies from your region code will play on the PSP

My PS3 shuts down whilst playing, the screen starts to flicker then shuts down. Also the fan is running quite alot, could be connected.

your system coolers should be positioned in an open area, it makes possible the cold air to change with the hot air. when the system is overheating, it turns off to protect hardware.

try cleaning your coolers: turn the back on/off switch OFF . then, hold the eject button and turn the on/off switch ON (while holding the eject button !!)

your coolers will run in maximum speed for a while, it should set them free from any dust inside the system .

PSP SCREEN FLICKERS AND GOES SLOW IN MAIN MENU

Ok...this sounds crazy but it happened to one of my PSPs. I updated the firmware on my system and the menu started stalling and taking a long time to respond. I shut the PSP all the way down....holding the power button until the light shuts off (about 4 or 5 seconds)...Hold the R button and power the system on again (you should be in recovery mode)...go to CPU speed and make sure it is either set at "Default" or "222"....I belive 222 is the default setting....also make sure the UMD is also set at "Default" or 222....if you're going to use the UMD.
