I have 2 dell inspiron 1300 and both of them dont play sound
I have 2 dell inspiron 1300 and both of them dont play any sound. i have latest dell drivers for sound and bios. there seems no option in the bios to enable the onboard sound. can anyone help me please?

if you are using vista or windows 7 it you may want to check what device is selected under sound properties, rigth click the icon of the volume then select playback option then if headphone is the ont that has a green check means defualt device ,try to select the other device for speaker to make default then try to play it again, if it will not resolve the issue it means u have to replace the speaker already.,
check if comp is mute, check sound properties if correct device is selected, check if sound device is detected in device manager, uninstall reinstall sound driver, perform 32 bit diags on sound using the drivers disc of comp

it's something to do with it being the wrong driver in the right package, i've gathered.

and install that driver. it works perfectly.
You should call DELL. I think the display card is part of the mother board on your computer. In this case, you cannot change it. In some models you can add some memory to the display card, but this may not make the card faster. Higher amounts of memory allows for more resolution and colours.
