Honda fg100a wont stay running full of fuel and oil

I had a similar issue. Tiller starts and runs for 20 secs. or so then dies. Found the problem! In turning the tiller on its side to check model numbers etc. the fuel line had shifted inside the tank and was stuck just about at the TOP of the fuel level. When I gently pushed the fuel filter and line back to the BOTTOM of the fuel tank, the tiller now runs beautifully! So, check that the fuel line placement inside the fuel tank is correct.

Won't start. I have followed all of the directions in the manual and still can't get it to start. I replaced the spark plug. Still doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Empty the fuel tank. Add fresh fuel/oil mixture. Then add two ounces of 100% acetone to the fuel tank. This will remove the build up inside the carburetor, etc. Try to start several times. Then let it sit for a while. Then try to start it again. Keeping the trigger (speed control) fully depressed when attempting to start it helps immensely. Repeat trying to start it a few times then letting it sit for a while until it starts. If the plastic bubble primer is broken it must be replaced, the tiller will never start if it is cracked. If there is no fuel shown in the primer the fuel lines are cracked and must be replaced. You can find suitable replacments for the fuel lines and fuel filter at Home Depot where the Ryobi/Echo maintenance kits are sold.

Did you replace the gasket (item 15 on the linked document) when replacing tank and lines, if you didn't and the old one has been torn it could be sucking in air, also the 4 carb mount screws need to be of equal tightness

Mantis won't keep running

if unit has bean stored with fuel in it during off season you will need to replace the carburator the symptoms described suggest bad fuel you may get lucky by dumping the fuel tank purging carb. then add fresh fuel otherwise replace carb. e-10 fuel generally last a max 3weeks without stabilizer

Fuel problem

take the gas cap off and look into the tank and see that the fuel filter is on the bottom of the tank and still secure to the fuel line.
Your tank will be slightly pressurized be sure your gas cap gasket is there and pliable.
same for your gas lines be sure they are relatively soft and dont crack easy if you move them?

try these couple items and see if any will help the cause
