I can only get ice cubes. I put the button on crush but I still get cubes.

I have the same problem.

there is a solenoid in the back of the machine that operates that lever on the bottom of the ice bin. make sure that the lever is properly engaged and not stuck jammed etc.

the blades that drop in to crush the ice while dispensing get frozen up with ice chips... turn off the ice maker (by lifting the wire bale) and remove the ice tray assembly (hopefully yours is the same as my JCD2289ATB)... clean out the ice (you can put it in a bag if you want to save it).. and leave the ice tray out upside down for a few hours (it will leak a bit of water as the ice thaws)... once you're sure it's dry, put it back in, and it should work fine..
