Hi,
Try to run this command chkdsk volume:/f and chkdsk volume:/r in command prompt.
Please note that volume here refers to your drive name.

For example, if you want to run Check Disk on C: drive, the command would be

chkdsk C:/f and chkdsk C:/r

See what happens after running the scan.

As for the one live scan error, try running it in safe mode with Networking if you’re directly running the scan without installing it on your computer.

To do so, see:

Start your computer in safe mode and visit this link to know more on how to run your computer in safe mode

Hello, so I tried running those prompts and it would not let me as it said I did not have a high enough level... admin. I am in fact listed as an admin but not sure how to 'invoke a higher status'. Is there a way to do this?

    thanks

What does error code 800105d mean and how to fix it

I believe the error code suggests a missing or corrupt file extention linking to the blueray disk drive. Try a factory reset and reinstall your files. Do you have any other PS3 games? Try playing one of those and see if you get the same error code back. If you do, then the problem is obviously your Blue Ray drive, if not, then it is a corrupt file.

Your Windows installation has become corrupted.

You need to repair the Windows Installation with the aid of the Original Windows Disk. It is a tricky business, a computer technician will be able to do it for you if you get stuck.

The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable

Hello,
The file or folder could get corrupted due to improper turning off the PC like abrupt power cut
without an UPS backup and various other reasons.Unfortunately there is no guaranteed way to fix the
corrupted file/folder,but there are few things you could try that fixes the issue sometimes.

1) You can ask windows to check for errors and fix them. This may fixe the corrupted files or folders in some cases.Follow the steps below to run the error checking process.
  1. Double-click My Computer, and then right-click the hard disk that you want to check.
  2. Click Properties, and then click Tools.
  3. Under Error-checking, click Check Now. A dialog box that shows the Check disk options is displayed,
  4. Use one of the following procedures:
    • To run Chkdsk in read-only mode, click Start.
    • To repair errors without scanning the volume for bad sectors, select the Automatically fix file system errors check box, and then click Start.
    • To repair errors, locate bad sectors, and recover readable information, select the Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box, and then click Start.
Note If one or more of the files on the hard disk are open, you will receive the following message: The disk check could not be performed because the disk check utility needs exclusive access to some Windows files on the disk. These files can be accessed by restarting Windows. Do you want to schedule the disk check to occur the next time you restart the computer? Click Yes to schedule the disk check, and then restart your computer to start the disk check.
Like I said there is no guarantee this would fix the issue but its worth the try.The only way to keep the folders or files safe is to make backup copies on another hard drive or CD/DVD.Do let me know if it helped.

Disk read error occured

If not give it a go and do a repair if needed again!

1- You may have a corrupt MBR (master boot record)!! You will need to reformat and do Fdisk /mbr to delete the master boot record!! Save all data first as this will not allow you to access any of your data as all file location addresses are located in the MBR!!

2 - Your harddrive may have a bad sector get a zerofill tool(low level formatting tool)!! This will rewrite you HD's sectors putting them back to factory spec's!! Maxtors is called Maxblast you can get it from thier site!!

3- or it could be a defective drive, but most read errors are due ot corrupt MBR or a bad sector!!

Disk is asking to be formatted - already been in use

this could be a help to you, first off most, cds, and memory disk, get scratched or worn out, that causes errors or corrupt file readings. so thats why it asked you to format, formating helps clean the drive up,like a tune up on and old car.and if you dont and try to put high grade gas in before the tune up your still going to have the same problem,so in saying you have to put the old one back in,format it. and then put the new one in after you completed formating the old one.good luck, hope that helped you.

Corrupt File System

Well i guess that either your file system is corrupt or your disk is formatted into a filesystem that it's not supported by the backup programs. I don't really know what filesystem is your disk formatted into but usually the FAT32 and FAT16 are the most failsafe file systems for Windows.
So copy/paste the data you don't want to loose and then go to
My computer -> right click on the drive icon -> format and then choose fat 32. Then try backing up your laptop again.
