Your are sure it is transmission fluid? If it is, there are probably seals on the shafts and on the pan that are leaking. This means removing parts like the transmission pan and replacing the gaskets. It could also be a main seal on one of the shafts that are on the engine and output side of the transmission. This is not a job for the average do it yourself person. It requires special tools.

That is on a label under the hood ,on top
of the radiator support/cover

Air pump/Smog pump and Compressor go on first, on the shaft. Power steering goes on next Altenator is the last one. After market pulleys and the above mentioned parts may change this order.. 1983 olds delta 88 royale

Personal experience between 13 - 20 for most models with the v-6 and v-8. the 5.7l is about the most fuel efficient at roughly 17

Any size you want, as long as you stick to the same brand of engine thats in it now, either olds, pontiac, or chevy.

If you have an automatic transmission that is routed through your cooling system, and you've tried everything possible to correct overheating, your tranny may be on its way out. The problems your tranny may be having having operating normally could be effecting the engine temp.
THE other problem may be that you just need to replace your radiator cap. If that fails then check your fan to make sure that they are working. if that fails that it could be a bad head gasket and it needs to be replaced
