I have glanced at and passed by your question several times, and finally cannot resist the urge to answer. Canon copiers are unique in the fact that they are " monocomponent". This probably means nothing to the average person. But suffice it to say, the"waste toner" you speak of is primarily drum polish and paper dust, neither of which is very good at producing a decent copy. In fact, ANY percentage of waste toner introduced into the Canon copy process is a recipe for disaster. I primarily say this because at some point you will have to replace the development unit (or have some serious service) and probably replace the drum ($1000) if you continue. I am not a Canon employee but have worked on Canon equipment for over 20 years. I merely wish to help. I would be hard pressed to see how you can save enough money up front to cover the back end costs.

Cost Saving Advice

<ul> <li>Consider disposing of waste toner yourself<br />Waste toner is not environmentally friendly. Drum needs to be replaced message,Remove waste toner,Waste toner full

Save money by removing your drum units waste toner yourself.By removing waste toner the drum life will be increased.Remove the waste toner every 3 to 5 thousand prints.

The main cause of drum failure in this model is caused by waste toner build up at the back of the drum, this cause the drum cleaning blade to put more pressure on the drum and.

Slide the platte-ned cover Assembly to the left open the left cover, remove the drum and developing Assembly like you do when you have to remove a paper jam.The drum and developer assy is attached by 2 blue clips, unlock the clips and separate the def and drum.On top of the drum unit the is a plastic plug that you can remove and trough out the toner in a dustbin with plastic bag coverd.Do not use this toner again in the machine.
Reinstall the plug and connect the drum and developer unit with the two clips.Reinstall the unit.

By removing the waste toner regally you will save on service cost as well.

My bizhub c25 waste toner was full so replaced and will not now reset.

The C25 stores toner in a waste toner container. On the front of that container there is rectangular clear window that fits into a sensor when installed into machine. The sensor passes a beam of light through that window. When the bottle is full there is toner inside that clear plastic window which stops the light from making it through the window and the machine will tell you the waste toner is full. Just dumping the container out will not clear that window and by putting it back in the machine you will get the same toner full message. If you are going to try to reuse that container you will have remove the black plastic cover that is glued to the container above the clear plastic. Then use something like a Qtip to clean all the toner off of that clear window(much easier and faster to just replace in with a new container). if you still get the waste toner full message after you install it then remove it and wipe off the sensor that the clear window sits in. This will clear the message and you can continue your copy job.

Our toshiba e5520c colour machine shows an error code cd81. What can i do to solve the problem? Must i reset the machine? Can anybody help please? Thanks Yolande

CD81 is an error code for full waste toner bag, or waste toner auger is being locked up, all you have do is separate the finisher from the copier(a green lever inside the finisher door or hole punch unit door), open the side door on the left side, pull the the waste toner bag out, dispose the waste toner properly, then tap the waste toner bag lightly (to make sure you clear the light sensing area is clear for waste toner full detection), reverse the procedures -please consult your user guide. Better yet, ask your dealer give you a spare waste toner bag.

Hi Sir. I got a problem of my Toshiba e studio 3510c printer, when I swich on the button, the screen shows there is a sentence said ;'disposal of the used tonner', should I replace the wasted...

It said exactly what? If it mentioned waste toner, emptying that tray (Toshiba has nice zero-waste-to-landfill toner recycling program) should have pretty much cleared things up; it appears that the sensor for that still sees lumps of toner..or something...coming up close to the paper path. Check it out carefully and replace the tray.

REPLACING THE WASTE TONER BOX
The waste toner box collects residual toner that is produced during printing. When the used toner box is full, the display
will show "Replace used toner container". Follow the procedure below to replace the used toner box.
Open the front cover.2
Release the used waste toner box.
The waste toner box will fall forward as shown.
Gently support the box with your hands as you let it fall forward
as far as it will go.
fmtx.png Remove the waste toner box.
Hold the box by both hands and lift it up slowly.
If the waste toner box falls too far forward, it will not be possible
to remove it. (Remove the box when it is at an angle of about
30 degrees.)
Install the new waste toner box.
Insert the box from above at a slant. (The direction opposite to
when you removed it.)
Push the waste toner box into the
machine.
Push the box in until it clicks into place.
Close the front cover

Hope this helps.

Hi, I have kyocera km c850D. Please could you explain why machine keeps saying replace waste toner box although it is quite empty. please advise if tere are any other parts of the machine to clean or...

Are you using a new waste toner container or did you empty the one that was already in the machine?

The machine uses a sensor that looks at the container to determine if it is full of waste toner. If there is toner on the inside sides of the container were it looks for toner it will indicate that it needs to be replaced even if you have emptied the toner out.

It is a good practice to replace the waste toner container with a new one, that is the way the machine is meant to be used.

If you have correctly installed a new waste toner container and the message hasn't cleared you may have a faulty sensor.

I hope this information is helpful,
Shawn

Waste toner disposal procedure

It's not recommended to empty this as it contains 4 colored toners and you would heve to ensure that the light sensor sees completely clear in the view area. Replace the bottle with type 155 waste toner bottle (about $25) from on line supplier. To do this is simply a matter of opening the right side cover and sliding the green lock lever to the unlock position. Then remove the bottle and replace. Don't forget to slide the green lock lever to the lock position and close the cover.
