Check the filter and change if dirty or restricted. Make sure the blower access panel is secured. Make sure the cooling coil is clean on the top (outside) and on the bottom (inside).

SOURCE: air handler fan appears to cause thumping noise

If it's a belt drive check the belt or the pulley could be worn. If it's direct drive check to se if something is in the fan wheel causing it to be out of balance.

Whistling sound from auto ac ducts

The whistling could be an indication of lack of air flow which will cause the evap coil to frost. The frosting could also be an indication of low refrigerant. As a quick & dirty test, here's something to try. After the system has been off long enough for the coil to completely thaw, set the thermostat for "fan on" & open the door to the air handler (or furnace). If you have to pull hard to get it off & air rushes in thru the door opening, you probably have a return air problem.

We have recently purchased a new home and the UBHK-25J21SFA air handler makes a whistling little tune and then the heat comes on. Never fails to work but noise is annoying.

Make sure the air is balanced... air handlers are rated @ a certain design static pressure. The static rating is on the air handler tag. Have someone measure that static. Too often hvac installers don't know much about airflow & they will undersize ductwork. Then again it could just be a dirty coil.

Ford explorer making whistling noise at air filter

a whistling noise, in itself, IS the vacuum leak, the leak is in between the filter and intake. because when you put in a filter, it causes air resistance and the air is pulling in from a small area (causing a whistling) ONLY use carb cleaner to check for leaks.

Starting fluid may cause internal detonation that may damage the engine.
(small to medium amounts) of water would cause hydrolock causing major damage.

Whistling noise while driving

If it is whistling while you rev your engine (while parked), then most likely there is a leak or hole in your air intake or vacuum hoses.

Facts:
1. Your car creates a vacuum to constantly receive air from the outside.

2. A whistling noise is created when air travels through a hole.

Check all air pressurized ducts for holes or leaks.
Check air intake system for holes or leaks.

It may be the small vent fan motor on the inside if the control panel. When the noise begins remove the panel and you may be able to catch it in the act.
