Right side deck problem Tascam 302MKII

Hi There -- This is a "new old stock" unit that has never been used. The right side deck will fast forward or rewind but the heads do not come into position for play or record. Any ideas?

That part number was 095-3M002870. Some how I did not get the M in there..

I have the same unit with the same problem right out o the box. The problem is the Capstan motor. Replace it and the unit will be perfect. The part number is 095=3002870. The best place to get it is at Full Compass. 1-800-476-9886. They are much easier to deal with than Tascam. They will even send a blow up of the section to help you replace the motor. The motor is around $38.00 but well worth it. With out it you anly have half a deck.
