You must be using too much detergent or the wrong stuff. Most of these machine sense the motor amp draw. If oversudsing occurs the washer will work harder to try and remedy it. Making it get hot and quit. It will try to do some routines to get rid of suds in the tub. You have to clean out the dispenser and use the correct amount of the correct stuff.

Possible Defective washer transmission. Do you overload the washer with heavy items like towels or blue jeans very often? That can cause early failure.

How do i tighten spin belts ?? Spin cycle sometimes will not start to spin out. Kenmore 70 series heavy duty washer.

Dane, if your washer is less than about 17-18 years old, you do not have a belt that can be tightened. If it is older than that, you can get behind the washer and take the small panel off of the back, and to your left, you will see your motor hanging under the deck the tub is mounted on. On the top side of the deck there is a nut and bolt that is mounted in a slot. Loosen the nut and take a pry bar or other long handled tool and put it through the motor supports under the deck and push the motor to your left. Tighten the nut back down and check your belt. You should only be able to push it in and pull it out only about a half inch of movement. If you have a newer washer than you have a different problem and you might need to have a regular repairman take a look at it. Hope this helps!

My whirlpool cabrio washer has started shutting off half way through the wash cycle...won't drain and spin...could the motor be overheating or is there something else I can check?

Most likely the cycle timer needs to be replaced. it is basically a clockwork device that that has cogs attached to a spindle. if you check the schematics for your product you will find the part no. etc. any servicing of course needs to be done wit the power disconected

If it's that old, you're better off buying a new unit. You'll spend about half the cost of a new one fixing it.

Washer has stopped at 26 min with water in the drum. Will not spin or drain. Just sounds like it starts running then stops and repeats.

Good deal your machine is a Series 11.

“”Washer has stopped at 26 min with water in the drum. Will not spin or drain. Just sounds like it starts running then stops and repeats.””

I believe this is the start of a Spin Cycle of that Wash Cycle which Wash Cycle did you have selected?

Are there any error codes to the LED display like dC or uC?

If you stop that wash cycle with the wet load and do a Spin Only cycle will it complete with no error code?

Does the wash tub bang around in Spin Only cycle with the wet clothes load?

Standing by for some feedback and I will try to help.

Here is the Service Manual and parts look up. Can you let me know if you want to try to DIY the fix?

Washer is acting erratic. spin cycle works sometimes. stops half way through cycle sometimes. got a new belt. what's next? pump or timer. both are spendy $ thanks. frigidaire FTR630ASO

The control monitors the door lock prior to and during the spin cycle as a safety feature. The washer will not advance to the spin cycle when the door lock is not activated and stops when the lock is deactivated during the spin cycle.

In your case, the door lock is working intermittently causing the washer to spin intermittently. This is probably due to a faulty door lock and switch assembly or poor connection at the control board or at the assembly itself. Replace the door lock and switch assembly if necessary.
