Question about Maytag EPIC MFW9700S Front Load Washer
That noise is a rear drum bearing. The parts alone will probably exceed $300. This is unfortunate news, but it's a problem that has plagued these washing machines. The labor to change out these parts, is going to be 2-3 hours unless u get someone who really, really, really knows these machines. So, multiply the local repair man's rate by 2-3 and add $200-$300 to it. I would recommend just buying a new one unfortunately and not even sink money into having someone look at it. Sorry for the bad news :(
