There is a plate on the bottom of the ice maker, I think its aluminum, it gets corroded & the ice sticks to the plate. The plate is located at the bottom of the ice maker, it is mounted on a shaft that goes thru the bottom and at the base where it exits the ice maker there is an "O" ring, Below the "O" ring is a round stainless (metal) friction ring. Below this is a screw which holds it all on the motor shaft. U will need the kit to replace the plate & it will come with a new "O" ring & stainless friction ring. There is a special tool that has a hook on one end & a set on the other. U will remove the screw on the bottom first & pull up on the plate to remove the entire part. Next u will use the tool to pry out the o ring & friction ring. The kit should a tube of grease. Put the grease (lube) on the shaft, then install the new plate from the top just as the old one came out. Last u will put the new o ring on the shaft ( this is done from the bottom ) & install the friction ring by tapping on the ring with the tool to set the ring flat. This will stop the water from dripping out the bottom of the tray by running down the shaft thru the defective o ring . This is where the water u say is leaking is coming from. A good parts house will have the kit & the tool, neither is expensive. Definitely less than a new ice maker!! It sounds bad but its not that bad for a sunday project. Good luck, sl

sounds like you have a very poor water supply coming to your refrigerator best thing is not to have a piercing T valves attached to a water line somewhere feeding the supply. Another thing you could have something wrong with your duel water control valve. Could you provide a model number so I can see what you have because everywhere frigerator is different in some ways.

The model number on our frig is RT21LMXKQO5. Water is constantly dripping from the freezer into the frigerator. We put a towel on the top shelf of the frigerator and the water ends up freezing on the towel....

You have a plugged defrost water drain. you will have to turn off unit, remove evaporator panel in freezer and **** out/clear drain hole for defrost water. pour some hot water down drain. Not an expensive repair you may want to get someone mechanically inclined to help

MY KENMORE TOP FREEZER DRIANS DOWN IN TO THE FRIGERATOR, DOES NOT DRAIN DOWN TO THE PAN, IT STILL WORKS GOOD BUT I HAVE WATER SITTING IN THE FRIG.

Hello.

Your refrigerator has a drain that leads to the exterior drain pan beneath the refrigerator. Occasionally this drain can become clogged resulting in standing water inside your refrigerator. A similar drain exists in the freezer, which when clogged results in ice build up on the floor of the freezer.

The drain is located either on the floor of the refrigerator, beneath the vegetable crisper, or in the wall behind a drain funnel.

Clear the drain by forcing a solution of water and bleach or water and baking soda into it with a basting syringe. If the solution will not flow through, slide a length of 1/4 inch flexible tubing into the drain tube to push the clog through to the drain pan. Remove the tubing after clearing the clog.

NOTE-(This may be a leveling issue as well)

It is important for the refrigerator to be level. If it is not level, doors may not open or close properly and may not seal tightly. Also, drainage from the defrost cycle might be impaired as might the ice making cycle. The appliance was engineered based on it being installed in a level position. While there may be some tolerance for out-of-level installation, the appliance will operate at its best when properly leveled.

Place a level on top of the refrigerator near the front. Do not put it on the door because the door may not be aligned with the refrigerator case. Check that the refrigerator is level from side to side. Next turn the level to check that it is level from front to back.

If it is not level, adjust one or more of the adjustable leveling feet until it is level. The feet are bolts that can be turned to raise or lower the refrigerator. If they cannot be adjusted with your fingers, use a crescent wrench or pliers.

If you have an ice-maker, it should also be checked for level after first leveling the refrigerator. An ice-maker that is out of level will spill water into the ice bin or into the freezer. It can be repositioned by loosening the mounting screws, adjusting it for level and then re-tightening the screws.

Whirlpool ED5VHGXML10. ice maker not working. Water not filling

If you look in the freezer there is a wire rod that goes from the ice tray to the bucket that the ice dumps into. As the level of the ice gets higher it pushes up on this wire rod to shut off the ice making operation. When the level of the ice drops the wire rod is suppose to drop and the ice making operation is suppose to resume. However a lot of times this wire rod sticks in the up position when the ice level drops. You just need to pull down on the wire rod. Try that, I think you will find that this is your problem. Please let me know if that worked for you. Thank you.

ICE MAKER NOT WORKING CORRECTLY

Hello deloreslovat
welcome,

You said ,your ice maker makes the ice but does not drop it into the bucket. It just leave it in the upright position in the ice maker device. It also seems to not be making all of the ice cubes only a portion of them.

Here are somethings to check that may cause this

The ice cubes are hollow or small
NOTE: This is an indication of low water pressure.
Water shutoff valve not fully open? Turn the water shutoff
valve fully open.
Kink in the water source line? A kink in the line can reduce
water flow. Straighten the water source line.
Reverse osmosis water filtration system connected to
your cold water supply? This can decrease water pressure.
See “Water Supply Requirements.”
Questions remain regarding water pressure? Call a
licensed, qualified plumber.

Let me know if this helps.

Ice maker arm issue

If you are a real DIY'er, remove the ice maker from the frig and see if the arm has or had a spring return down or check its position with the cam that operates it as it goes around.
