Kenmore 77563 Installed last week and freezer defrosted all the food
Been installed for one week working fine, then freezer defrosted all the food must have been defrosting for 24 hours at least as most food completely thawed. Fridge working fine. Cannot see what is wrong after another 12 hours freezer "seems to be working again".

Re: Kenmore 77563 Installed last week and freezer...
The refrigerator & freezer operate using the same system. One system. Your still covered by the warranty and I would suggest calling the installers or store from which it was purchased. The problem may be a faulty fan switch .

There could be a large list of things that cause the freezer to warm up from the temperature it was before. The most likely reason is you probably have a defrost problem. Defrost heater, defrost thermostat and the defrost control are all things that may have failed. If your model is not a frost free let me know. Look inside freezer for a layer of frost building on the rear wall. If your refrigerator is not defrosting it will be a short time before the fresh food compartment begins to warm. To extend the time your refrigerator and freezer can keep food safe defrost by placing a bucket of hot water inside the freezer and close the door. Please place food from freezer and fresh food compartment into another refrigerator or cold storage area. By keeping doors shut as much as possible the refrigerator and freezer will last up to a week this way before defrosting again, Sea Breeze
The water became stale inside copper lines feeding ice
maker most likely. Dump your ice for a few times until this clears you should
have ask for some money back for copper poison, (joking) Thanks,Sea Breeze
That water is from the melting frost of the automatic defrost cycle. Their is drain in the freezer behind the back wall under the evaperator coil that is blocked, so instead of defrost water draining it's pooling in the freezer or in some case espically on models with the freezer on the top,the water is leaking from the freezer vents into the fresh food compartment. The way to clear the drain is remove back plate and remove all ice build up and GENTLY make a small hole in drain through then totally flush w/warm water. The exact location of drain is under the coil behind back freezer plate in the center
Time to check the defrost timer, these can go bad on defrost and warm up the freezer / or on run mode, and cause the freezer coils to frost up..it usually will cycle 2 or 3 times a day. If you can find the timer (bottom, near floor) it can be rotated to cycle. (there are about 5 wires connected to it (it's about the size of pack ofcigarettes.)
JH, did you notice if the freezer back panel was full of frost first time it started thawing? If so you may have a defrost problem. I've had 4 of these control boards (jazz boards) fail on this model in the last week. Behind the front grill, there should be a tech sheet that will show you how to run the componet tests at the control board. Part number for the board is 12002339. This board controls compressor, defrost, damper and fans. Catriver.
