The set is shutting down the CRts for protection which is almost always a vertical deflection failure with that chassis if the audio still remains working when the pic drops out. Replacing the deflection board should solve the issue. You can get the ITC222A deflection board PSB260 from www.tvrepairworld.com

I have a panasonic TH-42PX60U plasma TV. When I watch TV programing I have no problems, or with the DVD input. But if I switch to another input, be it video game (PS2) or vcr the screen sometimes goes black and the red power lcd light next to the power switch flashes. Holding the power button in for a few seconds will shut down the tv. Then I can turn it back on and it may operate normally again for a undetermined period of time, before the screen goes black again. This never happened when new. The tv is about 1 year old. Any ideas on this problem? Thanks Ernie
My HD50LPW62AYX2 RCA TV sometimes reverses the blue and reds. The peoples faces are blue, especially the lips.
Sometimes turning the TV off and then back on again fixes the problem. At other times this correction is good for only a second or two.
Do you have an English owner's manual available on line or otherwise available?
The first thing to try is to see if your set has loose conections, you need to remove the back and tap in diffrent areas of the chassis to see if it reacts,if it does you'll know soemthing is loose and it has to be resoldered,if you are familiar with tv service you will have a place to start checking but if you are not too familiar seek the assistance of a servicer, the repair should not be expensive.Let Us know how it goes or if you need more information.
