Not unless it over heats & stops. Does it
drain after you start it in drain after it sat for an hour? If so you need a motor. Maybe its
just the drain hose has a kink. Also the lid switch. It should drain water before spinning
if water drains and no spin maybe transmission & or clutch.

I have a Whirlpool LHA 5700 old school washer. It works great. It wash clothes with no problems. It just stop spinning the water out tub and clothes. The water drains as far as it can but that's it. W

Don't know the model but with the old basics with electric motor drive as a 1st step always check for broken wires to the motor as they flop around a fair bit and eventually break them or corrode them from water and washing detergents.

My clothes are still dripping wet after a complete cycle.

If the washing machine is not spinning to its regular speed then it can be the cause of wet clothes. If there is any cloth got stuck in between the inner and outer tub then this will slow the speed and this can cause the problem. Also if the washing machine spin motor,if its faulty then it can be the reason for clothes coming wet. Also check the motor coupler,if its cracked or broken this can be the reason of motor not spinning to its full speed. --------- But if all this ----- the motor, the motor coupler and the inner tub and outer tub blockages checked ok.And there is no problem seen then the other possibility is faulty water inlet valve. The valve lets the water to enter the machine. But if this valve is got weak/faulty then it will not stop the water from entering. So the clothes come out wet, because some amount of water will always enter the washer due to faulty water inlet valve. --------- This are the possibilities that has to be checked and confirmed for the problem to be solved. To get required parts ,you can get it from www.repairclinic.com . Keep updated if any more queries.Thanks.

My washing machine does not spin dry the clothes

The clothes are wet after spinning When the clothes are wet at the end of a cycle, check these: Motor coupler Spin cycle Siphoning Water-inlet valve Motor coupler To test the motor coupler, re-start the washer in its spin cycle. Let the machine run for a minute, and then open the lid and notice whether the tub is spinning: If it's spinning when you lift the lid, the coupler is fine. If it isn't spinning--and your machine was produced by Whirlpool®--you may have a broken coupler. Many Whirlpool-made washers use a small, relatively inexpensive device called a motor coupling. This plastic-and-rubber component is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other. Over time, the coupler wears out and fails. When that happens, you need to replace it completely. Spin cycle If the washer doesn't reach its proper spin speed, the clothes may be too wet at the end of a cycle. Check to be sure the load is properly balanced and run a spin cycle again. If the clothes are still wet, you may have a worn or loose belt (Maytag®), a worn clutch (GE®/Hotpoint®), or a worn motor pulley or tub bearing. Replace the applicable component. Alternatively, there could be clothes caught between the inner and outer tubs. Read the "It spins but won't pump" section of the "It won't drain" section. Also, there could be other things that cause friction on the drive train. Seek the assistance of a qualified appliance repair technician. Siphoning If the water that pumps from the machine goes right back into the machine after the spin cycle, it may be because your washer is siphoning the water from a laundry tub with a slow drain, back into the washer. Try to improve the draining of the laundry tub. (Is there something stuck in the drain?) Also, be sure the drain hose doesn't reach more than about 4 inches into the laundry tub. If it does, cut off the excess. Water-inlet valve Water-inlet valves eventually fail. One problem that may develop with a water-inlet valve is that it can no longer completely shut off when the electricity is turned off to it. Then, the valve may leak and drip water into the clothes tub--you may notice that your washer has water in it when you haven't used it for a few days. To fix this, replace the valve

Old model rca washer machine...will not agitate/wash the clothes, does spin.

If the washer fills up with water and you hear the motor running but the agitator doesn’t move, the agitator coupling is the most likely problem. First pump the water out by turning the timer to spin. Once the water is out, turn the washer off. Now pull up on the agitator until it comes off (it may be hard to pull off). Now that the agitator is off, you can see the agitator coupling, reach down and try to turn the coupling. If the coupling turns freely, it is striped out and needs to be replaced.

Washing machine does not spin out all water

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

Rate me pl.....if helped.
