My acer mouse stops working after the laptop has been on for about ten minutes, then if you try to move it the screen just zooms in and out

Hi

i would go to computer properties
device manager
scroll down to mouse/pointing devices
un install it
then restart the laptop
windows will then hopefully find new hardware when it re starts
and reload the touchpad/mouse correctly

many thanks

THE MOUSE WON'T MOVE! :(

You may have a corrupt driver, so go to my computer, right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager, then look at the list for mice and other pointing devices, click on the '+' sign and and then your touch pad will be listed, right click on it and select uninstal. Restart the pc and it will automatically reinstall and should work as normal

How do I disbale the Lenova G550 touchpad Thank ou

Hi there,

To turn off the touchpad when an external mouse or other pointing device is present, you can go to the Control Panel and double click the Mouse properties icon.

a) Click the Device Select tab and check "Disable Touch Pad when USB Pointing Device is present." The cursor will no longer move via the touchpad.

Alternatively, you can permanently disable the touchpad of your laptop by clicking the "Disable Device" in the Touch Pad setting

My synaptic pointing device stop working ..I think

Since you do not specify the model number for your HP laptop one cannot be too specific. On my Toshiba laptop activation and deactivation of the touch pad is enacted by pressing the Fn-F9 sequence.

The actual Function key to press after the Fn key might have the picture of a touch pad on it. Examine tour laptop keyboard.

Wifi not connecting correctly

Windows WiFi Fix,

Windows Zero Wireless Configuration is one of the best programs to run a WiFi in Windows XP or Vista. Most of the other software packages that come with the different adapters have been poor at best in keeping a connection through Windows. Here is the best guide to get you back up and connected.

Windows XP:

Click Start
Right click on My Computer
When a window pops up click on properties
Click on the Hardware tab
Click Device Manager
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

Windows Vista:

Click Start Logo
Right Click Computer
Click Device Manager
Windows will ask you about opening Device Manager Click Continue
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

Our touchpad is not responding to tapping. It

Go into the BIOS (F2). Press Alt-P until you reach "Page 4 of 7". Under "Pointing Device" change the setting from "PS/2-Touchpad" to "PS/2". Reboot.
The touchpad and point stick will still function as long as there isn't a mouse plugged into the PS/2 port. If the mouse is plugged in, it will override the integrated devices.

When i type email or documents, the font changes, or it indents, or google appears. I contstantly have to stop typing and repair the problems that come up.

I have found that the pointing device "wanders" while your working and if you hit return when the pointing device is hovering over something like the font or your google icon it "clicks" on it. The only solution I have is to keep an eye on where the pointing device is. Not much help, but it's all I have I'm afraid.

Synaptics pointing device ceased to function

Load up device manager , highlight your computer (top in the list) and right click - select scan for new hardware - See if it detects your pointing device now

If it does , right click it , update driver etc and reinstall the drivers for it

If not , it might be a hardware problem , try getting it repaired by toshiba if its still under warranty

Synaptics pointing device ceased to function

Check Device Manager to see if the trackpad/mouse is listed. Check BIOS menu not disabled Check you have no 'palm-check' hot keys which disables the trackpad (to avoid moving mouse when you are typing)
