There may be different reason. First of all the download was faulty i.e. exact file was not downloaded and be setup file problem. Secondly you system contains spywares which thwart the setup file to run.

You please download or collect the original CD of the antivirus with latest version - try to install - if installed then fine. If not installed then you must follow the steps,
    1. Uninstall few softwares (which you find not so important or you may install later).

    2. Ban few starting programs deleting from start up or msconfig. Restart the PC.

    3. Install antispyware as well as firewall.

    4. Use one system clean up software to erase temporary files completely.

Try the setup file of the anti virus - it should run now.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

My antivirus doesnot uninstall

Using the AntiVir Registry Cleaner

If for some reason the normal uninstall does not work, you may have to download AntiVir's registry cleaner utility to remove all traces of it from the registry and allow you to reinstall it.
1. Click on the following link and download the AntiVir Registry Cleaner to your desktop
2. Create a folder on your desktop called Antivir and Unzip the file to your desktop
3. Double-click on the file called RegCleaner.exe to run it
4. Since the program is German, you'll have to click on the button called "keys asulesen" to search the registry for any issues. Then place checkmarks next to the registry entries you wish to delete.
5. Finally, click on the button called "loschen" to delete the keys
6. Restart your computer and try to reinstall your antivirus

Download older version of Avira Antivir

Why xp SP1??.

If you dont update your OS, even with the best Antivirus you will be in big trouble with security breaches/holes.

IF your copy of windows will not pass the WGA then you are out of luck with Avira . Avira needs SP2 so you could try AVAST, its min requirements are.
Processor Pentium 3, 128 MB RAM, 100 MB of free hard disk space
Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7 (32/64 bit)

Avira antivir guard: attention, dtection window

If it's the free version of Antivir that you are using then there is no way to disable the pop up advertising window.
I use Antivir myself and i have looked everywhere to try and find how to disable the annoying pop up with no luck.
If you don't want any annoying adverts then try AVG Free instead.

HP Pavillion DV2000 - laptop slow-locks up

Here is what I myself would do.....

1. Remove any antivirus software you have and replace with with Avira AntiVir... its free and works A LOT better than ones you pay for. Download here:

2. Download and install Malwarebytes AntiMalware from here: Free version on left side of screen.

3. Remove things running in your startup that are NOT needed by going in to MSCONFIG ( Start > Run > msconfig ) go to startup tab and uncheck everything that is absolutely NOT required... any blank entries, disable them (they are adware/spyware). If you have any questions about what anything is and if it is required, check it against this website:

4. After cleaning up the startup list, save/close and restart the computer. When it comes back up, open up the malwarebytes program and click the "Update" tab... check for updates. Also open up the AntiVir and check for updates for it.

5. When the updates are done for BOTH programs, run a FULL scan with malwarebytes on ALL hard drive(s) you have in your computer. As malwarebytes is scanning each file, if it is infected, AntiVir will pop up with a box asking what to do with the file. ANY and ALL detections in AntiVir should be put to Quarantine.

6. After Malwarebytes is done, it will say "Show Results" or whatever.... click that and fix all problems it has. It may need to be restarted.... go ahead and let it.

7. After MBAM is done, you can do a full scan with AntiVir (would not hurt to do so).... all detections go to Quarantine.

8. Download ATF Cleaner from here :
Go ahead and save it to the desktop..... when its done, double click on it, select all to clean and click OK.... let it do its thing and clean the junk off your hard drive.

9. When that is done, do a defrag on your hard drive(s). After that is done, make a system restore checkpoint and restart.

When all of the above is done, see if it is running better. :)

Hope this helps.

Task manager in win xp keeps blinking, it will not closed, no matter what i push nothing, plus win xp keep freezing any solution how to fix this problem

VIrus infection?

to check and secure u need:

win-xp cd or other bootable win-cd, seperate up-to-date antivir software on cd or usb-stick,
your passwords

boot system from cd/dvd (do not bother if screen resolution is different from usually),
exit windows-setup,

insert antivir-cd or stick, run full system scan.
found infections? remove/erase these files(antivir will do that for you)
if possible, back-up personal data (my folder, music, save games, etc.)
this data has to virchecked by another protected system before reinstallation !

boot from win-xp cd-rom, run setup until repair options are available,
repair your xp on harddisk(xp-will do that mostly), exit setup without installing win xp anew

boot system from hd, ignore error messages, run vircheck again.

if you're lucky, this will do, else lemmie know
