Question about Husqvarna Chain Saw 20" Bar
I have a Husqvarna 350 it has been oiling the chain well, it did not drip oil from under the cylinder cover. While cutting old trees with rotten (like dirt) center, the chain (under the cylinder cover) got real dirty. I removed the cover-clutch drum-etc. I then removed the "oil pick up plate" and cleaned the entire area and pieces. I reassembled the saw and now very little oil gets onto the chain. I removed the cylinder cover and there was chain oil all over everything under the cover. I did not change the "oil flow adjustment". I took it apart and reassembled it twice with the same result. Please help. Thank you!
Take the bar and chain from the saw. Clean the two small ports that run from the large oil holes at the drive end of the bar out to the chain groove on each side. Clean the entire chain groove. Start the engine with these parts removed--oil should ooze out from the side port in the engine case with the engine running at med speed. If it doesn't, then there is trouble near the pump inside the case. When everything is back together, run the saw at full speed with the bar tip near a piece of cardboard--it should throw off a thin line of oil onto the cardboard after a few moments of running. Hope this helps!
