My SQ9050 Brother machine will not pull the bonnin thread up.

Try re-threading the bobbin you may have it in there backwards. If that doesn't work re-thread your needle thread and play with your tension.

My machine has a problem with bobbin tension.we installed every thing as given but sometimes we are not getting any stitch

make sure the bobbin thread goes through the tension spring. if that's ok, try adjusting the little screw on the bobbin case. bobbin tension is correct if you hold it (with bobbin loaded) by the tail of the thread leaving the bobbin case. when you do that, it should hang in the air but release thread if you pull it gently. if it comes out to freely (case does not hang in air, but slides down) try turning the screw clockwise, 1/4 turn at a time til it's right. if it won't release thread without a struggle, turn the screw counterclockwise, 1/4 turn at a time. Good luck!

Loading bobbin kenmore mini ultra

REPLACE THE NEEDLE AND INSERT WITH THE FLAT SIDE TO THE BACK OR TO THE RIGHT DEPENDING ON THE TYPE. HOLD THE NEEDLE THREAD WHILE YOU TURN THE HAND WHEEL. THE BOBBIN THREAD SHOULD RISE. IF IT DOESN'T THEN IT IS LIKELY THE NEEDLE AND THE HOOK (UNDER THE BOBBIN CARRIER) ARE OUT OF TIME. YOU WILL NEED TO VISIT YOUR PRO FOR THIS.

Signature mini sewing machine S458. Am not sure bobbin is threaded correctly due to bad diagrams in manual. It does sew, but the bottom thread is loose. No amount of adjusting top thread tension seems...

When you thread the top of the machine do you may sure the presser foot is up so the thread goes between the discs ? top tension about 4 or 5.
Make sure the bobbin in the bobbin case turns anti clockwise

I get a E4 code whan I turn on machine and I can't figure out what is wrong.

Brother Computer Codes E1: Make sure the presser foot is lowered before sewing.

E2: You chose a stitch other than a buttonhole stitch or a bar tack stitch and you tried to sew with the buttonhole lever in the lowered position. Raise the buttonhole lever.

E3: If you selected the buttonhole or tack bar stitch and start to sew with the buttonhole lever raised, you will get the E3 code. Lower the buttonhole lever.

E4: You hit the reverse button while the bobbin winder shaft was moved over to the right. Move the bobbin winder shaft to the left.

E5: On automatic sewing machines, the start/stop button was pressed while the foot controller was plugged in. Unplug the foot controller if you are using the automatic function.

E6: This code tells you that the motor locked up because the thread is tangled. Untangle the thread, make sure the machine is threaded properly and that the proper tension is set before continuing.

Just got the sewing machine last night - read the manual, etc - the tension of the bobbin is way off. tried every solution mentioned, but its still not working

are you adjusting the little screw on the tension spring on the bobbin case by minute amounts each time? Only turn it a quarter turn each time you change it.

If you do the dangle test, (suspend the bobbin by the thread tail) the bobbin case and bobbin should stay still in the air, but a gentle tug on the case should release thread. Adjust the little screw with the mini screwdriver in your kit until you get it to this point. turn it left to loosen and right to tighten.

Also check that the bobbin is in the bobbin case the right way, page 12 of your manual should show this. Yout want the bobbin to turn anticlockwise when you pull the thread tail. Then load it into the shuttle using the latch on the bobbin case to secure it.

It is possible that the tension spring itself is faulty in which case you can buy a new bobbin case for the machine from the local machine shop, or http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/brother-lx-3125-parts.aspx

I cannotl get my 270 D to even sew, it will not pick up the bobbin thread and do a thing. I have yet to sew the machine. donna

Picking up the bobbin thread has to be done by manually. Turn off the machine, open the bobbin door, lift the presser foot, hold the end of the upper thread and slowly turn the side wheel till the needle enters the bobbin race and on the way up it will catch the bobbin thread. Pull the upper thread till you lift the bobbin thread too. Put both threads to the back of the machine, close the bobbin door and you should be able to sew.

The bobbin case turns when i sew

This little "notch" is a stopper and there needs to be a little play so the bobbin case can move approx 2-3mm and allow the thread to pass through. Adjust the spring stopper on the main body just a very little to give it some play and try again....if this was adjusted at dervice, it is not good !

Hi!
I was having the same problem(s) and I loosened the tension on the bobbin case and switched to prewound paper bobbins and everything sews beautifully.
Hope that helps!
