An F0 fault code can indicate 3 different things; A defective electronic control, a 'stuck' button in the control's keypad or a relay of the control "turned on" (which would usually cause an overheating condition).

If the range is not overheating when the error occurs, that should leave just the electronic control and the keypad (which is part of the control panel) as the most likely possibilities.

A test that can sometimes be used to isolate whether the keypad or control is responsible is to disconnect one from the other to see if the error returned. If the error returned even while the keypad was disconnected, it would point to a problem with the control being the most likely. If not, the control keypad would be suspect(but not absolutely guaranteed to be the cause).

Being as you say it only occurs while heating, that test may not be able to be performed since you would not be able to operate the oven with the keypad disconnected. I get an FO symbol and it won't turn on - rolleyes.gif It might however be able to be disconnectedwhile the error was present to see if the display changed in the process.

icon4.gif Working on a 'live' appliance can be dangerous. It is not advised that persons unfamiliar with standard safety procedures attempt it.

We have just had a power failure and when the power came back all the symbols on the display flash on and off. I cant switch the oven on at all. Can anyone help with this problem please

The only thing I can think of is to try and reset the unit by unplugging or turning the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds then turn it back on. This is just a generic fix possibility.

What is the model number? Reset the unit by unplugging or turning the circuit breaker off and then retrying.

Oven won't come on?

Check that the timer is set correctly as often owners don't set them right; I'm guessing you changed the element without turning off the breaker. If this is an oven with a digital display, turn the breaker off and back on, this might reset the board.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

My oven has code Fo displayed. It began with a beeping. We turned off the breaker and turned it on again. The beeping continued. After several attempt the beeping has stopped but the code remains...

Hello, I had the same FO error. It turned out that the ribbon cable from the front panel was not making good contact where it mated with the circuit board. Remove ribbon cable and clean contacts on ribbon cable. Replace cable and problem should resolve.

Thanks

Door locked after power surge/failure

The question here is how long did you leave the breaker off? Gaggenau ovens have a memory and I always advise turn the oven off for 5 mins before turning the breaker back on. Give that a try. The first thing the oven does when the power is reapplied is go thru a test phase which included locking and unlocking the door. The key symbol will go on and off during this. Sometimes you have to also can run a self clean then cancel it to reset the lock. This works as well.
