Question about Peg Perego John Deere Gator HPX

1 Answer

Front cylinder is weak.(back cyl is ok.) 6x4 gas Kawasaki motor.I replaced the plugs and the front one was fouled(oil on it). With the motor running I pulled the back plug wire and front cyl ran but not very well. Pulling the front plug wire made little difference in how motor ran.

SOURCE: i got a john deere gator 4x4 hpx, it will not run

Remove flywheel shroud to see your timing marks, they will be 90 degrees apart on face of flywheel.Use timing light on flywheel as you look directly at it from the side.when light flashes you should see the marks lined up with arrow at the center top of block breather cover. If you find that your timing is off there are only 2 things that it can be-FLYWHEEL KEY or the computer located at the rear of engine.I have only had 2 machines where the timing was off exactly 90 degrees and the computer had to be replaced both times.

I have a 99 Kawasaki Vulcan classic one car bike why would the bike flood the back spark plugs and put gas in my air filter been trying to figure it out but I need help

Hi, Brandon my guess is you have a faulty spark plug or spark plug wire/cable or ignition coil or wiring to the coil is corrupt, check the ohm reading on your plug wires/cables for more information about your question and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need please click on the links below. I have a 1999 yamaha virago. the back cyl. loads up and fouls the plug when running at 3000 rpms or less

Hi, Gary and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel mixture too rich or enrichner left out too long.
2. Incorrect spark plugs for your kind of service.
3. Piston rings badly worn or broken.
4. Valve guides are badly worn and/or seals worn, crushed or have come off valve guide and pump oil through it.
5. Spark plug cable weak or ignition coil faulty.

Why is my fuel mixing with oil

I'm afraid your Subaru has burnt a valve. Typically it is the right rear cylinder (looking at it from the front of the car) that burns them. this is a common problem. It's an expensive fix. There is a chance however, it may just be a fouled spark plug. Again, it's usually the right rear spark plug that fouls. You can pull each plug wire one at a time (start with the right rear one) until you find one that doesn't make the engine run worse. Then change that plug and try it. Or replace all the plugs. If one is fouled then the others may also need changing.

Front cylinder fouls

try cleaning the carbs, changing plugs, and cleaning the fuel tank. If that doesn't work, it might be the piston rings are getting worn out or you cylinder sleeves need a honing.

(1) engine was overfilled with oil,now exhaust pipe is constantly dripping from joint at lowest point.I intend removing and dumping what I can.--any damage associated with oil over-filling (2) 1&3...

Draining some oil is the thing to do. It will probably take a few days for the dripping to stop. The cylinder walls are splash lubricated. Too much oil lessens the splash. Chances are that little or no damage was done. Install a fresh set of spark plugs. Before installing, compare the spark between 1 & 2 cylinder. If the spark is noticeably weaker on cyl 1, consider getting a new coil. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

How to find #4 cyl. on 4.0...not sure. diagnostic reads #4 not firing

The cylinders are numbered 1234 starting at the front of the motor. Number four is the last spark plug closest to the firewall.

I just got a 2000 zr 7 and it has good compression but smokes after a few minutes of running. The far left cylinder fouls the plug, as I said it has good compression, but has been sitting for 3 years, how...

What color is the smoke? A blue-ish smoke is burning oil, a blackish smoke is unburnt gas. If the plug fouled with gas or oil? Does the plug foul at idle, or while riding it? Full throttle? or partial throttle? Answer those questions and you will know if you have a an oil leak in the head or overly rich mixture at idle, or during an open throttle position.

It sounds like too much gas (since you say it has good compression -- did you do a real compression check?). I'd get the carbs synch'ed and make sure they all have their idle mixture screws set correctly.

Have code for cylinder #1 misfire on 96 chevy blazer engine runs rough at idle what do i need to do

these were bad for the spider injectors to fail. they are hard to diagnose with out the scan tool. the poppets in the end of the injectors get clogged and will need to be replaced. pull the plug and see if its oil fouled. they also have a problem with the #1 cyl getting out of round and oil fouling the plug. compare it to another plug in the engine. if its oil fouled the engine is no good.

Fouling plugs

Get a new NGK spark plug one heat range hotter than stock. Be sure the fuel mix is 32/1 using two stroke engine oil ( not motor oil ). A 32/1 mixture equals 4 ounces oil to 1 gallon of gas. Remove the cylinder head and de-carbon the top of the piston and head.

Please rate this solution. Thanks!
