Question about Dell Latitude C640 Notebook
How can I replace teh bios battery. What must I unscrew?
Disconnect the adaptor, and remove the battery.
Turn over your latop........ all the screw locations marked with a "K" are for securing the keyboard. Once they are removed the keyboard can be moved by rotating toward you.
The CMOS battery is located in it's own little depression under the keyboard.
It's basically six watch batteries in a series covered by shrink wrap........ mine was green.
Under 5 bucks from China via eBay (it was green too).
It has a two pin connector with the red and black wires........ no brainer to replace. The connector is keyed to only go in easily one way.
But like pip433x said........ it's in the manual with pretty pictures.

This is the Link for your service manual. It will show you exactly what to unscrew. This is your tear down manual for your computer. Please vote me a 10 when this works for you
